Primary hyperparathyroidism due to ectopic parathyroid adenoma is not infrequent. Primary hyperparathyroidism caused by unusual thymic nonadenomatous nonencapsulated parathyroid tissue has been reported before. Both can cause unsuccessful neck explorations.

While it is accepted that focal lymphocytic thyroiditis develops secondarily to malignancy, it is not clear whether diffuse lymphocytic thyroiditis has a tendency to develop into thyroid cancer. It can be easily misdiagnosed as Hürthle cell thyroid neoplasm on fine-needle aspiration (FNA). Here, an intrathyroidal oncocytic parathyroid adenoma in a 32-year-old male is reported.

- The research included 91 patients; some underwent standard radials surgeries, while others also had lymph-node dissection, with sexual function assessed through the IIEF questionnaire.
- Results showed a significant drop in sexual function for both groups after surgery, with those having a permanent colostomy experiencing even lower scores, but lymph-node dissection did not worsen sexual function further.
