Background: Classroom-based interprofessional education (IPE) has been shown to improve medical students' understanding of IPE competencies, but less is known about how those skills apply in clinical environments. This study assesses an IPE session's influence on medical students' interactions with cross-disciplinary colleagues during their pediatrics clerkship.

Methods: Medical, nursing, and pharmacy students in pediatrics clinical rotations participated in an hour-long, virtual classroom-based small-group IPE activity in which they answered questions about a hypothetical case of a febrile neonate's course of hospitalization.

Background: The authors investigated postprocedure patient satisfaction after fractional photothermolysis with the Fraxel SR laser.

Methods: All patients were surveyed with respect to their satisfaction with the results using a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5, with 5 = extremely satisfied and 1 = extremely dissatisfied. Fraxel SR laser treatment was performed for categories of skin abnormalities that included dyschromia, scarring, and texture abnormalities.

Objective: Preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) continues to be a major cause of preterm births. The objective of this study was to compare the morbidity of patients with PPROM nonvertex presentations with patients with PPROM with vertex presentations.

Study Design: A retrospective analysis of data from 74 patients with PPROM with nonvertex presentations (study group) and 74 patients with PPROM with vertex presentations (control group) comprised the 2 study groups.

Necrotizing enterocolitis continues to be a common and life-threatening gastrointestinal emergency in the low birth weight infant. Prematurity, ischemia, enteral feeding, and infectious disease have been identified as common risk factors, however the exact cause of NEC other than prematurity is yet to be identified. Good assessment skills by the nurse are imperative, because clinical signs of NEC can be both subtle and catastrophic.
