The History and Accomplishments of the LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance.

Purpose: This article outlines the history, background, and accomplishments of the LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance.

Background: The LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance, a program of the Lance Armstrong Foundation, was developed as a vehicle for a strategic plan designed to implement the Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Progress Review Group (AYAO PRG) recommendations. The AYAO PRG was co-sponsored by Lance Armstrong Foundation and the National Cancer Institute (NCI); both LIVESTRONG and NCI provide strategic oversight and guidance to the Alliance.
