A healthy 47-year-old immunocompetent man from Northern Canada presented for ophthalmologic assessment after experiencing one month of right-sided photopsias, floaters, and a right lower nasal quadrant visual field defect. Optic disc swelling, vitritis, chorioretinitis, peripheral retinal infiltrates and hemorrhages were noted in the right eye. A broad right inferior arcuate and nasal visual field defect were also present.

Periorificial dermatitis (POD) has been documented in the pediatric population in patients as young as 3 months, with a slight predominance in girls compared to boys. Many patients have a personal or family history of atopic disorders. Periorificial dermatitis typically presents with erythematous to flesh-colored papules and rarely pustules near the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Here we report a case of TNFantagonist-induced psoriasis in a 3-year-old boytreated with infliximab for Kawasaki disease. Efficacy and safety of ustekinumab in adolescents.

The biologic agent ustekinumab is a human monoclonal antibody that binds to the p40 subunit shared by interleukins (ILs) 12 and 23. The antibody is able to prevent binding of cytokines to the IL-12Rβ1 cell surface receptor and therefore may prevent IL-23 driven activation of the IL-23/Th 17 axis of inflammation. The anti-inflammatory activity has been beneficial in adult psoriasis.

Survival in patients treated for anaplastic meningioma.

Sarcoidosis of the anterior visual pathway: successes and failures.

Four patients with progressive visual deterioration were found to have sarcoidosis involving the anterior visual pathway. They all developed chiasmal dysfunction and bilateral optic neuropathy, which responded to megadose corticosteroid therapy. When an attempt was made to withdraw the corticosteroids, the patients experienced a recrudescence of visual dysfunction and were subsequently unable to tolerate the corticosteroid dose levels necessary to maximise their visual potential.

Central bilateral sixth nerve palsy associated with a unilateral preganglionic Horner's syndrome.

Unilateral peripheral sixth nerve palsy associated with an ipsilateral postganglionic Horner's syndrome has previously been described. Isolated bilateral sixth nerve palsy due to a pontine hemorrhagic lesion, however, is a rare occurrence. We describe such a case whose only other neurological finding was a unilateral preganglionic Horner's syndrome.
