Plant urease has the advantages of high activity and small size in enzyme-induced calcium carbonate precipitation (EICP). However, there area lack of nucleation sites for calcium carbonate in EICP. Sucrose and sorbitol, which are readily available and inexpensive, have the potential to provide nucleation sites for EICP as nucleating agents.

A batch reactor was assembled to immerse soil samples into cementation media. The cementation media can freely diffuse into the soil samples in the batch reactor instead of cementation media being injected.

The adsorptions of both the neonicotinoids fit a linear isotherm model. In different soils at different depths with different moisture contents, the adsorption distribution coefficients of clothianidin and thiamethoxam were found to be 0.
