Cervical cancer is a major cause of morbidity and mortality globally with a disproportionate impact on women in low- and middle-income countries. In 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) called for increased vaccination, screening, and treatment to eliminate cervical cancer. Serum PZA concentrations were determined at 2, 6, and 10 h after dosing in 48 subjects with HIV-related tuberculosis. Estimates of drug exposure using 2-h concentrations and 2- and 3-time point estimates of area under time-concentration curves (AUCs) were compared.

Twenty-one (75%) of 28 patients receiving pyrimethamine (95% lower confidence interval [CI], 58%) and 9 (82%) of 11 patients receiving sulfadiazine (95% lower CI, 53%) responded to treatment for acute disease. Of 20 patients in the maintenance phase, only 1 experienced relapse.
