Herein, we present the detection of two cystic lesions via the transesophageal route using endobronchial ultrasound and emphasize the fact that understanding the anatomy may enhance the diagnostic yield.

The present study aimed to investigate the role of preexisting tumor immunity in the clinical outcomes of patients receiving IP chemotherapy.
Methods: This study involved analyzing patient data from the iPocc trial, selectively of those whose tumor specimens were preserved at the time of primary surgery.
Background: In the phase 3 EMPOWER-Cervical 1/GOG-3016/ENGOT-cx9 study, cemiplimab significantly improved overall survival (OS) versus chemotherapy for patients with recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer who progressed after first-line platinum-based chemotherapy. We present a post hoc subgroup analysis of patients enrolled in Japan.
Methods: Patients were enrolled regardless of programmed cell death-ligand 1 status and randomized 1:1 to cemiplimab 350 mg intravenously every 3 weeks or investigator's choice single-agent chemotherapy for up to 96 weeks.
An 86-year-old woman with leg edema and dyspnea on exertion was admitted to our hospital. Chest computed tomography (CT) revealed a mass in the anterior mediastinum with pericardial invasion. Histological examination with endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) led to the diagnosis of Masaoka stage IVa type B2 thymoma.

Although immune checkpoint inhibitors have been widely incorporated into endometrial cancer treatment, the debate continues regarding treatment options in patients with recurrent endometrial cancer who have previously received platinum-based chemotherapy. In this study, we assessed the duration of response to secondary platinum-based treatment using pooled data from the SGSG-012/GOTIC-004/Intergroup study.

Background And Aim: There is no gold standard for making the diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH), and the diagnosis of acute onset AIH (A-AIH) is most challenging. A-AIH sometimes develops into acute liver failure with poor prognosis if the diagnosis is delayed. Therefore, it is most important for the better prognosis to diagnose non-severe A-AIH early and treat appropriately.

Background: Platinum/taxane (TC) chemotherapy with debulking surgery stays the mainstay of the treatment in ovarian cancer patients with peritoneal metastasis, and recently its novel modality, intraperitoneal carboplatin with dose-dense paclitaxel (ddTCip), was shown to have greater therapeutic impact. Nevertheless, the response varies among patients and consequent recurrence, or relapse often occurs. Discovery of therapeutic response predictor to ddTCip and/or TC therapy is eagerly awaited to improve the treatment outcome.

In patients with airway hemorrhage, respiratory conditions may worsen during stenting. Bronchial artery embolization (BAE) is useful to prevent bleeding from the bronchus.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFA 75-year-old woman with stage IVB (cT2bN3M1b) lung adenocarcinoma was administered nivolumab, ipilimumab, carboplatin, and paclitaxel. Fourteen days after receiving chemotherapy, she experienced an impaired consciousness and a cerebrospinal fluid analysis revealed high protein levels and pleocytosis. She was diagnosed with nivolumab- and ipilimumab-induced encephalitis and was treated with corticosteroids which were tapered to 10 mg/day, with no symptom recurrence.

Approximately four years after immunosuppression initiation, the patient was admitted for progressive dyspnea on exertion. Chest computed tomography (CT) findings were suggestive of acute exacerbation.

The Cancer-VTE Registry was a large-scale, multicenter, prospective, observational study in Japanese patients with cancer. This study aimed to clarify the relationship between D-dimer level at cancer diagnosis (baseline) and the incidence of events during cancer treatment (1-year follow-up period).
