To achieve the 2030 goal of eradicating the HIV epidemic, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS has set 95-95-95 targets: 95% of HIV-infected individuals should know their status, 95% should initiate antiretroviral therapy (ART), and 95% should achieve virologic suppression. In Ethiopia, progress has been made, but challenges remain. This study evaluates same-day ART initiation and its effect viral suppression for patients in HIV/AIDS care in Ethiopia.
