The A disintegrin and metalloprotease (ADAM) family is involved in many vital cellular events, from proliferation to migration, and accumulated evidence suggests its increased expression in malignant tumors. In this study, we investigated ADAM17 expression in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and its relationship with clinicopathological factors and survival. Immunohistochemical staining of ADAM expression was performed in 108 patients with NSCLC and in 54 control cases with no known malignant diagnosis.

The most commonly recommended screening test for determining the nutritional status of hospitalized cancer patients is Nutrition Risk Screening-2002 (NRS-2002). NUTRISCORE, on the other hand, is an outpatient cancer patient-specific nutritional screening test that is easier to administer than NRS-2002 and queries tumor location and treatment information received from the patient. We aimed to investigate the validity of NUTRISCORE, in hospitalized cancer patients.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to rate Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) reactivation, risk factors for reactivation and compare the efficacy of prophylactic antiviral therapy in patients who initiated immunosuppressive therapy.
Patients And Methods: A total of 177 patients with Chronic Hepatitis B or resolved HBV infection who had received immunosuppressive treatment were analyzed in this retrospective study. Demographic features, relevant liver tests, prophylactic treatment type, duration of treatment, transaminase levels and HBV serology and clinical conditions were recorded from all patients who received prophylactic treatment.
Background/aims: This study aimed to evaluate the real-life efficacy and tolerability of direct-acting antiviral treatments for patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC) with/without cirrhosis in the Turkish population.
Material And Methods: A total of 4,352 patients with CHC from 36 different institutions in Turkey were enrolled. They received ledipasvir (LDV) and sofosbuvir (SOF)±ribavirin (RBV) orombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir±dasabuvir (PrOD)±RBV for 12 or 24 weeks.

Introduction: Whether triggers celiac disease (CD) or protects against CD is currently the subject of research. In the literature, there are epidemiologic studies that have reported conflicting results regarding the association between and CD.
Aim: To compare the prevalence of CD autoantibody positivity and the levels of CD autoantibodies between -positive and -negative subjects.
Background/aim: The incidence of acute cholecystitis (AC) increases with age, and aging is also one of the poor prognostic factors. Aging is related to altered physiology, so diseases may show different characteristics in elderly patients. We aimed to investigate the differences between the main characteristic features of AC in elderly and nonelderly patients.

Treatments with bismuth-containing quadruple therapy (QT), sequential therapy (ST), or concomitant therapy (CT) have been proposed as empirical first-line regimens for Helicobacter pylori. We compared the efficacy and tolerability of 10 days bismuth-containing quadruple QT, 10 days ST, and 10 days CT with as first-line treatments for H. pylori in a randomized crossover study.
