Background: The phenomenon of restlessness, agitation, or cognitive disturbances experienced by dying patients is well-known in palliative care; more than half of these patients will experience delirium symptoms at end-of-life. When not identified early and effectively managed, delirium symptoms could lead to caregiver and patient distress and harm.
Methods: Eighty patients with a prognosis of 7 days or less will be recruited for an open-label randomised control trial.
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has increased usage of medication delivery service (MDS) significantly. MDS improves adherence to medication and clinical outcomes.
Objectives: To study behavioral change factors that affect adoption of MDS, determine existing patient satisfaction level, and make recommendations to improve MDS adoption.
Objective: This study aimed to explore the influence of SLC22A1, PXR, ABCG2, ABCB1 and CYP3A5 3 genetic polymorphisms on imatinib mesylate (IM) pharmacokinetics in Asian patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).
Patients And Methods: Healthy subjects belonging to three Asian populations (Chinese, Malay, Indian; n = 70 each) and CML patients (n = 38) were enrolled in a prospective pharmacogenetics study. Imatinib trough (C(0h)) and clearance (CL) were determined in the patients at steady state.
Background: L-Asparaginase (L-Asp) may induce hypertriglyceridemia; however, this has been mainly observed among pediatric patients. Treatment for L-Asp-induced hypertriglyceridemia is not standardized, ranging from fasting and diet restriction to the invasive plasmapheresis procedure.
Case Report: We describe a 53-year-old male patient who presented with L-Asp-induced severe hypertriglyceridemia.
