Mitochondrial DNA B Resour
November 2024
The family Clausiliidae was proposed as a model for studying the diversity of breeding biology in land snails. This study assembled a nearly complete mitogenome (15,417 bp) for the clausiliid snail . The mitogenome includes 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), two ribosomal RNAs, and 22 transfer RNAs, with a gene order consistent with other clausiliids.

The heat shock proteins (HSPs), which are important molecular chaperones for species responding to various stresses, have been proved to play critical roles in adapting harsh environments in the invasive apple snails. The recent release of the genomes of Pomacea canaliculata, Pomacea maculata, Lanistes nyassanus, and Marisa cornuarietis has opened the opportunity for a comprehensive analysis of HSP superfamily in the ampullariids.
