It is generally accepted that ATP regulates mitochondrial function through the AMPK signaling pathway. However, the AMPK-independent pathway remains largely unknown. In this study, we investigated ATP surplus in the negative regulation of mitochondrial function with a focus on pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) phosphorylation and protein acetylation.

Comparing the ability of luminex xMAP(®) salmonella serotyping assay and traditional serotyping method for serotyping salmonella isolated from southern Chinese population.

Aims: To investigate whether the Luminex xMAP(®) Salmonella Serotyping Assay (xMAP SSA) is applicable to serotype Salmonella from humans in southern China.

Methods And Results: Two hundred and five Salmonella isolates from diarrhoea patients were serotyped by xMAP SSA in parallel with the traditional serotyping. Forty serotypes were identified among 205 isolates; the most prevalent serotypes identified were Salmonella Enteritidis, Salmonella Stanley, Salmonella I 4,5,12:i:-, and Salmonella Typhimurium.

Measurements of Absolute Hadronic Branching Fractions of the Λ_{c}^{+} Baryon.

We report the first measurement of absolute hadronic branching fractions of Λ_{c}^{+} baryon at the Λ_{c}^{+}Λ[over ¯]_{c}^{-} production threshold, in the 30 years since the Λ_{c}^{+} discovery. In total, 12 Cabibbo-favored Λ_{c}^{+} hadronic decay modes are analyzed with a double-tag technique, based on a sample of 567  pb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collisions at sqrt[s]=4.599  GeV recorded with the BESIII detector.

Measurement of Azimuthal Asymmetries in Inclusive Charged Dipion Production in e^{+}e^{-} Annihilations at sqrt[s]=3.65 GeV.

We present a measurement of the azimuthal asymmetries of two charged pions in the inclusive process e^{+}e^{-}→ππX, based on a data set of 62  pb^{-1} at the center-of-mass energy of 3.65 GeV collected with the BESIII detector. These asymmetries can be attributed to the Collins fragmentation function.

[Etiologic characteristics of food-borne Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains isolated in Guangdong, 2014].

Environment-Sensitive Fluorescent Probe for the Human Ether-a-go-go-Related Gene Potassium Channel.

A novel environment-sensitive probe S2 with turn-on switch for Human Ether-a-go-go-Related Gene (hERG) potassium channel was developed herein. After careful evaluation, this fluorescent probe showed high binding affinity with hERG potassium channel with an IC50 value of 41.65 nM and can be well applied to hERG channel imaging or cellular distribution study for hERG channel blockers.

Observation of a Neutral Structure near the DD[over ¯]^{*} Mass Threshold in e^{+}e^{-}→(DD[over ¯]^{*})^{0}π^{0} at sqrt[s]=4.226 and 4.257 GeV.

A neutral structure in the DD[over ¯]^{*} system around the DD[over ¯]^{*} mass threshold is observed with a statistical significance greater than 10σ in the processes e^{+}e^{-}→D^{+}D^{*-}π^{0}+c.c. and e^{+}e^{-}→D^{0}D[over ¯]^{*0}π^{0}+c.

Bioluminescence Probe for Detecting Hydrogen Sulfide in Vivo.

Considering that hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is an endogenous signaling molecule involved in numerous biological processes, a method for monitoring H2S as a powerful tool for investigating its complicated functions and mechanisms is urgently demanded. Herein, a bioluminescent turn-on probe was reported based on caged strategy for the detection of H2S in vitro and in vivo. This probe will help us understand the intricate contribution of H2S to a variety of physiological and pathological processes.

We report a study of the process e^{+}e^{-}→(D^{*}D[over ¯]^{*})^{0}π^{0} using e^{+}e^{-} collision data samples with integrated luminosities of 1092 pb^{-1} at sqrt[s]=4.23 GeV and 826 pb^{-1} at sqrt[s]=4.26 GeV collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring.

Therapeutic efficacy of fibroblast growth factor 10 in a rabbit model of dry eye.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the therapeutic efficacy of fibroblast growth factor 10 (FGF10) in the promotion of healing, survival and expression of mucin in corneal epithelial cells in a rabbit dry eye model. A total of 12 healthy female New Zealand white rabbits were divided randomly into three groups. The lacrimal glands were injected with saline either alone (normal control group) or with concanavalin A (Con A), with either topical phosphate‑buffered saline (PBS; PBS control group) or 25 µg/ml FGF10 (FGF10 treatment group).

We report an observation of the process J/ψ→γX(1835)→γK_{S}^{0}K_{S}^{0}η at low K_{S}^{0}K_{S}^{0} mass with a statistical significance larger than 12.9σ using a data sample of 1.31×10^{9} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector.

Cell and in vivo imaging of fluoride ion with highly selective bioluminescent probes.

Two rapid bioluminescent probes for the detection of fluoride ion were developed on the basis of F-Si bond formation herein. It should be noted that probe 1 exhibited highly selective and sensitive detection toward fluoride ion over other anions and has been successfully applied in imaging fluoride ion in both living cells and animals.

HCN1 Channels Contribute to the Effects of Amnesia and Hypnosis but not Immobility of Volatile Anesthetics.

Inactivation of NF-κB p65 (RelA) in Liver Improves Insulin Sensitivity and Inhibits cAMP/PKA Pathway.

The transcription factor nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) mediates inflammation and stress signals in cells. To test NF-κB in the control of hepatic insulin sensitivity, we inactivated NF-κB in the livers of C57BL/6 mice through deletion of the p65 gene, which was achieved by crossing floxed-p65 and Alb-cre mice to generate L-p65-knockout (KO) mice. KO mice did not exhibit any alterations in growth, reproduction, and body weight while on a chow diet.
