The data about the ability of various substances to cause definite reactions in biological objects are adduced, and, in particular, about the efficacy of a small doses of antitumoral chemopreparations in experiment. The results of investigation of the application efficacy of various doses of immunomodulating agents, such as arbisol, nucleoplat, the substrate from gram-negative bacteria Yersinia enterocolitica, antitumoral vaccine from the tumoral cells are presented for the cancer chemotherapy. While application of super-small doses of an antitumoral vaccine there was noted statistically significant inhibition of tumoral growth.

The stimulated influence of the antitumoral vaccine, prepared with the help of filtrate of the Bacillus mesentericus AB-56 or the antibiotic, extracted from it, on the immune answer to heterologic test-antigen (ram erythrocytes) was established. While the vaccine injection to laboratory animals with developing tumor their capacity to resist to the tumors was rising up.

Results of the action of a preparation consisting of cis-dichlorodiammineplatinum and deoxyribonucleic acid combined in the saline balanced solution by means of the original technique on cytomegalovirus infection of patients with cancer of the liver are presented. Clearly pronounced antivirus activity of the preparation developed is noted.

The authors studied the antitumour activity of a new complex platinum compound (DDP-DNA) in mice with leukemia P-388 and in cell culture. DDP-DNA was introduced intraperitoneally 24 hours after inoculation of 2 x 10(6) tumour cells. It was established that by its antitumour activity DDP-DNA was not inferior then DDP.

Results of the use of polyplatillen--a preparation consisting of sodium nucleinate (deoxyribonucleic acid) and cisplatin combined in the saline balanced solution by means of the original technique--in cancer of the ovaries (198 patients), liver (62), pancreas (35), lungs (12), stomach (5) are presented. Clearly pronounced specific activity of the preparation developed is noted.

Toxic action of polyplatillen, a principally new platinum compound, was studied on laboratory animals and cell culture. When compared with cis-dichlorodiamminplatinum, the preparation is 10-fold less toxic in animals and 100-fold--in the cellular systems. Reversibility of damaging action of polyplatillen at "non-toxic" dosages conditions the perspectiveness of its further clinical trials.

The comparative assessment of the effectiveness of endovascular regional infusion therapy (ERIT) in the complex of treatment of a hepatic abscess in 16 patients was carried out. In 12 patients, it was performed in combination with surgical intervention, in 4--as an independent method of treatment. In patients with a solitary hepatic abscess, it is expedient to include ERIT into the complex of therapeutic measures in combination with abscess puncture under ultrasound guidance.

It was shown that the cultures of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were sensitive to 75-100 micrograms/ml and resistant to 25-50 micrograms/ml of carbenicillin when tested by the method of serial dilutions in the synthetic medium developed by the authors and in Jorgensen's medium. The cultures were incubated for 4 and 16 hours, respectively. The data did not confirm the resistance of the cultures to 25-75 and 100 micrograms/ml carbenicillin when it was determined with the serial dilution method in Pal's medium and the disk diffusion method, respectively.

Experiments on 150 non-inbred white rats have shown that preliminary administration of high polymer native DNA isolated from Swetz leukemia tumor suppresses the tumor growth. Tumor DNA combined with BCG vaccine in young animals suppresses and in old ones stimulates the tumor growth. These results correlate with DNA and CIC content in the blood serum.

The experience with combined treatment of 122 patients with pancreatic cancer in the clinic of the Institute of Clinical & Experimental Surgery for the period of from 1988 to 1990 is summarized. Radical operations were performed in 54 patients, the palliative ones--in 68. After performance of a palliative operation, the patients underwent polychemotherapy, 5--in combination with UHF-hyperthermia.

On the basis of the analysis of the results of treatment by the methods of cryosurgery, roentgeno-endovascular embolization, local use of immobilized chemo-preparations and systemic administration of a high-molecular platinum compound of 218 patients with IV stage tumours of different location, it is shown that the mean lifetime of the patients increases 12-fold, the number of postoperative complications and lethality decrease.
