Delayed sleep phase syndrome (DSPS) is a circadian rhythm sleep disorder with a typical onset in the second decade of life. DSPS is characterized by the sleep-onset insomnia and the difficulty in waking at the desired time in the morning. Although DSPS is associated with inability to attend school, the prevalence has been controversial.

[A deficit in preattentive processing of visual information in schizophrenic patients].

Schizophrenia is associated with deficits in information processing. Several studies have shown impairments in attentional functions of visual perception in schizophrenic patients. Attentional function is thought to consist of two stages; preattentive processing and attentive processing.

[Efficacy of intervention with externalization therapy for eating disorders].

Externalization has been one of the effective methods in the fields of brief therapy, family therapy, and psycho-education in recent years. In this study, we investigated the efficacy of intervention with externalization at the first stage of therapy in 25 patients with eating disorders. The subjects consisted of 11 patients with anorexia nervosa (AN) and 14 with bulimia nervosa (BN).
