Implantation of sigmoid colon cancer into the endoscopic resection site of intramucosal rectal cancer: A case report.

A 70-year-old woman was diagnosed with intramucosal rectal cancer and advanced sigmoid colon cancer at the same time. First, the intramucosal rectal cancer was curatively resected by endoscopic submucosal dissection, and surgery was subsequently performed for sigmoid colon cancer. After 20 months, a follow-up colonoscopy revealed a tumor growth at the ulcer scar of the endoscopic submucosal dissection.

GLIS1, a novel hypoxia-inducible transcription factor, promotes breast cancer cell motility via activation of WNT5A.

We previously demonstrated that expression of a Krüppel-like zinc finger transcription factor, GLIS1, dramatically increases under hypoxic conditions via a transcriptional mechanism induced by HIF-2α cooperating with AP-1 members. In this study, we focused on the functional roles of GLIS1 in breast cancer. To uncover its biological function, the effects of altered levels of GLIS1 in breast cancer cell lines on cellular growth, wound-healing and invasion capacities were assessed.

Pyoderma Gangrenosum with Ulcerative Colitis Successfully Treated by the Combination of Granulocyte and Monocyte Adsorption Apheresis and Corticosteroids.

A 36-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital due to swelling and redness of the left lateral malleolus and dorsum of the left foot with severe pain, with a flare-up of ulcerative colitis (UC). A pathologic examination by skin biopsy led to a diagnosis of pyoderma gangrenosum (PG). She was treated with the intravenous administration of prednisolone (60 mg/day), and granulocyte and monocyte adsorption apheresis (GMA) was performed twice-a-week for 5 weeks.
