Seasonal and interannual dynamics of mesozooplankton abundance, biodiversity, ecological status of the marine environment and concurrent variability of abiotic forcings in the north-eastern part of the Black Sea in 2016-2023 were discussed. Mesozooplankton biomass, total biomass (mesozooplankton plus Noctiluca scintillans), biomass of Copepoda and Parasagitta setosa and harmful heterotrophic dinoflagellate Noctiluca scintillans have been considered along with the water temperature, wind, precipitation and salinity. Natural seasonal dynamic of mesozooplankton, disrupted by the invasion of M.

The article presents a rare clinical case of a 45-year-old patient with generalized myasthenia with damages to the muscular apparatus of the extremities and the heart. A special feature of the case was myocardial damage evident as alterative-productive interstitial myocarditis with a peculiar immune phenotype of cell infiltrate, Cd3+, Cd4+, Cd8-, Cd68+. Furthermore, Cd68-expressing cells were presented by large macrophages with cytoplasmic granulation, which surrounded damaged cardiomyocytes.

This review addresses morphological changes in coronary arteries following stenting, which result from damage to the vascular wall. These changes include 1) formation of a thrombus in the site of intimal injury; 2) inflammation; 3) proliferation and migration of smooth muscle cells; 4) formation of extracellular matrix. Each of these pathological processes has specific morpho-biological features.

Autopsy study of a 49-year-old patient demonstrates a rare kidney tumor that had a structure of a mesenchymal renomedullary interstitial tumor (RIO), which had specific characteristics. They include a predominance of the cellular component in the tumor, represented by cells with processes elements (fibroblasts, myofibroblasts), which were surrounded by collagen fibers of interstitium. Apparently, these cells can be involved in the regulation of renin and bicarbonates, the exchange of components of connective tissue (collagen fibers, proteoglycans) and hormones (estrogen, progesterone).

Information about the use of a medication in pregnancy is part of overall drug labelling as prepared by the pharmaceutical company and approved by the regulators. It is aimed at assisting clinicians in prescribing, however, very few drugs are labelled for specific indications in pregnancy, since there is rarely information about the use of a drug in this condition. Recently the FDA has drafted new guidelines for the labeling of drugs in pregnancy and breastfeeding, to replace the A,B,C,D,X system that was used for more than 30 years.

Smoking during pregnancy increases the risks of maternal and fetal complications and adverse neonatal outcomes, and it remains a significant health problem. Although pregnancy is often a strong motivator for smoking cessation, many pregnant women continue to smoke. Effective smoking cessation strategies for use during pregnancy are therefore clearly needed.

Although statins have been identified as potential teratogens on the basis of theoretical considerations and small case series, the available evidence is far from conclusive. In fact, epidemiological data collected to date suggest that statins are not major teratogens. The actual risk for an exposed pregnancy seems to be small, if present at all, and does not by itself warrant termination of pregnancy.

Bimodal visual somatosensory long-latent evoked potentials (LEP) and automatic analysis were employed to examine 110 healthy neonates of different gestation age. The data were obtained about maturation of that type of evoked bioelectric activity of the brain. Nonspecific changes in LEP revealed in 34 neonates with impairment of the white matter of the cerebral hemispheres pointed to the gravity of the pathological process, corresponded with the intensity of brain echogram abnormalities and disease outcomes.

The examination of 1712 neonates by using an ultrasound method provided the findings of the incidence and echographic pattern of subependymal hemorrhages (SEH). A long-term follow-up of 32 newborns with SEH detected at birth by dynamic brain echography indicated that the mental and motor development in 30 of them was normal, whereas 2 babies had mild specific growth retardation unrelated to SEH. EEG abnormalities were found in 9 of 20 examined children.
