Objective: We used biomimetic scaffolds, chondral scaffolds, and microfractures to repair experimentally created osteochondral defects in rat knees and then compared the results of each method.
Materials And Methods: We used a total of 56 female Wistar albino rats. The rats were grouped into 4 groups, with 14 rats each: biomimetic scaffold, chondral scaffold, microfracture, and control groups.
A 14-year-old male high school volleyball player was seen to evaluate right- and left-hand little-finger distal interphalangeal joint deformity and pain. His symptoms began during his second season of competitive play. The distal interphalangeal (DIP) joints of the little fingers flexed 20-30°, and a 10-15° valgus deformity was seen at the same joints.
