We have studied the molecular properties of water in physically and chemically cross-linked gelatin hydrogels by FTIR-spectroscopy, NMR relaxation, and diffusivity and broadband dielectric spectroscopy, which are sensitive to dynamical properties of water, being a structural marker of polymer network. All experiments demonstrated definite reinforcement of the hydrogel net structure and an increase in the amount of hydrate water. FTIR experiments have shown that the chemical cross-linking of gelatin molecules initiates an increase in the collagen-like triple helices "strength", as a result of infused restriction on protein molecular mobility.

It was shown that the elemental composition of hydrogels in the form of freezing dried microspheres gives information on the structure of junction zones in the polysaccharide hydrogel network, the degree of filling of egg-box cells by cations, the type and magnitude of the interaction of cations with alginate chains, the most preferred types of alginate egg-box cells for cation binding and the nature of alginate dimers binding in junction zones. It was ascertained that metal-alginate complexes have more complicated organization than was previously desired.

Methods: Aerosol-infected animals were subjected to multiple dose or single dose treatment with RPLGA, PLGA microspheres or micronized rifampicin suspension aerosols. The prevalence of respiratory disease and the spread of risk factors were studied in adolescents living in Saratov. Respiratory diseases held the lead among other classes of diseases in young people; these diseases were more prevalent in adolescents than in children and adults.
