The Polymers of Diethynylarenes-Is Selective Polymerization at One Acetylene Bond Possible? A Review.

In this review, all available publications on the polymerization of all isomers of bifunctional diethynylarenes due to the opening of C≡C bonds were considered and analyzed. It has been shown that with the use of polymers of diethynylbenzene, heat-resistant and ablative materials, catalysts, sorbents, humidity sensors, and other materials can be obtained. Various catalytic systems and conditions of polymer synthesis are considered.

Anionic Polymerization of Para-Diethynylbenzene: Synthesis of a Strictly Linear Polymer.

Anionic homo- and copolymerization of -diethynylbenzene in the presence of n-BuLi in polar solvents was carried out. The use of hexamethylphosphortriamide (HMPA) makes it possible to synthesize a completely linear soluble polymer that does not have branching and phenylene fragments. A copolymer of -diethynylbenzene with diphenyldiacetylene was synthesized.

Study of gasdynamic electron cyclotron resonance plasma vacuum ultraviolet emission to optimize negative hydrogen ion production efficiency.

Negative hydrogen ion sources are used as injectors into accelerators and drive the neutral beam heating in ITER. Certain processes in low-temperature hydrogen plasmas are accompanied by the emission of vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) emission. Studying the VUV radiation, therefore, provides volumetric rates of plasma-chemical processes and plasma parameters.

A powerful pulsed "point-like" neutron source based on the high-current ECR ion source.

The paper presents recent results of a "pointlike" neutron source development based on a D-D fusion in a D-loaded target caused by its bombardment with a sharply focused deuterium ion beam. These developments are undergoing at the Institute of Applied Physics of Russian Academy of Sciences in order to study a possibility to create an effective and compact device for fast-neutron radiography. The last experiments with a beam produced by a gasdynamic high-current ECR ion source and its focusing with a magnetic lens demonstrated that 60 mA of deuterium ions may be constricted to a transversal size of ∼1 mm at the focal plane.

Status of the gasdynamic ion source for multipurpose operation (GISMO) development at IAP RAS.

A new experimental facility named GISMO (Gasdynamic Ion Source for Multipurpose Operation) was constructed at the IAP RAS to continue investigations in the field of gasdynamic ion sources. The source utilizes 28 GHz/10 kW gyrotron radiation for heating magnetically confined plasma. Magnetic field configuration provided by a fully permanent magnet system is much like a simple mirror trap.

Wide-aperture dense plasma fluxes production based on ECR discharge in a single solenoid magnetic field.

Results of experimental investigation of the ECR discharge in a single coil magnetic field as an alternative to rf and helicon discharges for wide-aperture dense plasma fluxes production are presented. A possibility of obtaining wide-aperture high density hydrogen plasma fluxes with homogeneous transverse distribution was demonstrated in such a system. The prospects of using this system for obtaining high current ion beams are discussed.

[Automatic blood reinfusion in intraabdominal bleedings].

147 patients with polytrauma, complicated by acute large-volume intraabdominal bleeding, were included in the study. Anesthetic regimens and blood loss compensation were retrospectively analyzed. Thus, all patints were divided inti 3 groups: 1st group received only intraoperative blood reinfusion, 2nd group - got auto- and donor blood reinfusion, 3rd group had only donor blood transfusions.

[Physiological and biochemical properties of the bacterial association of Klebsiella terrigena E6 and Bacillus firmus E3].

Physiological and biochemical properties of the natural rhizospheric association of Klebsiella terrigena E6 and Bacillusfirmus E3 were studied. It was demonstrated that this association fixed actively molecular nitrogen at a rate of 110 nmol ethylene per 1 mg protein per h. The dynamics of bacterial population in the association and in pure cultures were studied.

[A role of social fostering for rehabilitation of mental patients in nursing homes].

A number of younger disabled persons, aged 18-41 years, who are staying in social care units--psychoneurological nursing homes of the Russian Federation Ministry for Labor and Social Development--are reported to be 42%. A rehabilitation effect rise for these patients and their integration with community on the basis of communicative skill and professional training development proves to be important. A Kurov (Moscow region) psychoneurological nursing home activity is suggested as an example for partial resolution of the problem in the form of "home visits" for the most adapted patients and they stay for the period from 1-2 days to 3 months in the rural families--those of relatives, friends, nursing home staff--for supporting, training and work.

[Etiology of acute pneumonias in an organized collective].

In this work the immune structure of an organized group with respect to acute respiratory infections and the etiological structure of cases of acute pneumonia was studied. The sera taken from 602 persons were tested for the presence of antibodies to 14 infective agents of the viral, bacterial and mycoplasmal nature. The data indicate that all these agents circulate in the group under study with the prevalence of influenza A (H3N2), influenza B and group III parainfluenza viruses.

[Multiple forms of rabbit muscle phosphofructokinase revealed by means of specific elution].

The modified procedure for rabbit skeletal muscle phosphofructokinase (PFK) purification is worked out utioizing the method of specific elution from DEAE-cellulose in 0.1 M tris-EDTA-phosphate pH 8.0 with 10 mM citrate.
