Impact of relative dose intensity on pathologic complete response in human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 positive breast cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant TCHP.

Purpose: The standard of care for locally advanced, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 positive (HER2+) breast cancer includes neoadjuvant chemotherapy with docetaxel, carboplatin, trastuzumab, and pertuzumab (TCHP). Many patients do not receive the full course of therapy due to various complications, possibly affecting the potential to achieve a pathologic complete response (pCR). The amount of therapy received is typically measured by relative dose intensity (RDI).

Outcomes in patients with spontaneous bacterial peritonitis utilizing first-line or alternative agents for secondary prophylaxis.

Purpose: The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases guidelines recommend ciprofloxacin as a first-line option for spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) prophylaxis, citing literature that is over 30 years old. There is insufficient data and guidance for prophylaxis in cases of fluoroquinolone treatment failure or intolerance. This study aimed to evaluate outcomes in patients whose antimicrobial prophylaxis was switched from first-line therapies to an alternative agent versus those who were not switched following recurrent SBP.

Case Report: Safety and Efficacy of Enfortumab Vedotin in a Patient With Metastatic Urothelial Carcinoma Undergoing Peritoneal Dialysis.

The clinical management of metastatic urothelial carcinoma has significantly evolved with the emergence of monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). Enfortumab vedotin (EV) was granted approval by the FDA in 2021 for patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma who have received prior immunotherapy and platinum-containing chemotherapy. Little to no data exist for the use of EV in patients with concurrent end-stage renal disease (ESRD) using either hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis (PD).
