Substance use disorder (SUD) is associated with severe health and social consequences. Continued drug use results in alterations of circuits within the mesolimbic dopamine system. It is critical to observe longitudinal impacts of SUD on neural activity to identify SUD predispositions, develop pharmaceuticals to prevent overdose, and help people suffering from SUD.
