Background: The classification of Congenital Uterine Malformations (CONUTA) relies on coronal imaging of the uterus using 3D TVUS and MRI. In everyday practice, radiologists and gynaecologists often struggle to confidently categorize CONUTA due to varying classification systems and the lack of worldwide consensus.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic concordance and discrepancies between two imaging techniques within the context of the ASRM, ESHRE/ESGE, and CUME systems.

As in many countries, there is neither a surveillance system nor a study to reveal the hemodialysis (HD) related infection rates in Turkey. We aimed to investigate the infection rate among HD outpatients and implement CDC's surveillance system. A multicenter prospective surveillance study is performed to investigate the infection rate among HD patients.

Introduction: Linezolid is a synthetic antimicrobial agent with a broad spectrum of activity against virtually all Gram-positive bacteria. Although linezolid is generally well tolerated, the prolonged use of linezolid can lead to myelosuppression, including neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia. The aim of this study was investigating the risk factors for thrombocytopenia in patients who received linezolid therapy.

Introduction: Infections related to the use of invasive instruments leads to the risk of treatment difficulties, prolonged hospitalization, increased health care costs, and increased mortality and morbidity rates. The present study examines the results of an infection surveillance study that showed an increased incidence of infections related to the use of invasive instruments in the cardiovascular surgery intensive care unit of the Ankara Training and Research Hospital and mitigating measures were taken following the surveillance program.

Methodology: Compared with previous surveillance data, an increase was observed in the incidence of infections related to the use of invasive instruments in cardiovascular surgery intensive care unit (CVS-ICU) during the first six months of 2014.

The authors present an extremely rare case of an aggressive and progressive vertebral capillary hemangioma of the lumbar spine secondary to a trauma. A 40-year-old man who complained of back and leg pain due to a hemangioma of L1 that had begun a year after the fracture of the same vertebra was subsequently operated on. Due to the profuse bleeding, only a subtotal removal was possible.

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection and AIDS are known to cause cardiovascular diseases such as premature coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, and arrhythmias. Recently, Tp-e interval and Tp-e/QT ratio has been shown as a novel marker of ventricular repolarization. We aimed to evaluate the ventricular repolarization using Tp-e interval and Tp-e/QT ratio in patients with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection.

The relationship between atrial fibrillation and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection was evaluated. Electro-echocardiographic methods can be used to predict the development of atrial fibrillation (AF). In this study, we aimed to investigate the atrial electromechanical delay (AEMD) parameters of HIV (+) patients.

Article Synopsis
  • A case of unexpected retropharyngeal hematoma (RH) following occipitocervical stabilization surgery is presented, highlighting a rare postoperative complication.
  • The patient, a 44-year-old woman with a long history of rheumatoid arthritis, underwent surgery for basilar invagination and experienced airway obstruction post-extubation.
  • A tracheotomy was performed due to the identified RH, which resolved after 10 days, allowing for her discharge, marking the first known instance of this complication after posterior cervical surgery.

Objective: The aim of this study is to reveal inhibitory effect of gamma knife irradiation on angiogenesis of meningiomas using rat corneal angiogenesis assay.

Methods: A total of 72 rats were divided into three preliminary groups. Each group, consisting of 24 rats, was implanted to World Health Organization (WHO) grade I (typical), grade II (atypical), and grade III (malignant) meningioma.

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a tick-borne viral disease presenting with flu-like symptoms, fever, hemorrhage and petechia. The virus (CCHFV) is a member of the Nairovirus genera of Bunyaviridae family and can be transmitted to humans by Hyalomma tick-bite, by exposure to infected blood and fomites of patient with CCHF or contact with animal tissue in viremic phase. In this study we present two cases with CCHF but without history of tick bite or exposure to infected fomites, even not coming from endemic areas.

Micrococcus strains which are the normal flora members of skin, mucosa and oropharynx, may lead to infections associated with intravenous catheter, chronic ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, venticular shunt and prosthetic valve. In this paper, a case of peritonitis due to Kocuria rosea of Micrococcea family, in a patient undergoing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), was presented. Fiftysix years old female patient was admitted to the hospital by complaints of abdominal pain, nausea and fever.

Object: The authors studied the effect of Gamma Knife irradiation on angiogenesis induced by cerebral arteriovenous malformation (AVM) tissues implanted in the corneas of rats.

Methods: Ten AVM specimens obtained from tissue resections performed at Marmara University between 1998 and 2004 were used. A uniform amount of tissue was implanted into the micropocket between the two epithelial layers of the cornea.

Objective And Importance: The present case report is the first one to report a bilateral anastomotic artery between the internal carotid artery and the anterior communicating artery in the presence of a bilateral A1 segment, fenestrated anterior communicating artery (AComA), and associated aneurysm of the AComA, which was discovered by magnetic resonance angiography and treated surgically.

Clinical Presentation: A 38-year-old man who was previously in good health experienced a sudden onset of nuchal headache, vomiting, and confusion. Computed tomography revealed a subarachnoid hemorrhage.
