Aim: The pathophysiology of slow coronary flow (SCF) involves atherosclerosis, small vessel dysfunction, platelet function disorders, and inflammation. It has been known that eosinophils also play a significant role in inflammation, vasoconstriction, thrombosis, and endothelial dysfunction. We propose to evaluate the relationship between eosinophilia and SCF.

The growth of nearly full coverage of multilayer graphene on the surface of a 99.8% purity copper foil has been experimentally studied. It has been shown that the film thickness can be controlled by a single parameter, the growth time, and growth can be extended until nearly full coverage of more than one layer graphene over the copper surface.

Objective: The aim of this study was to establish the effectiveness of sentinel lymph node biopsy in the detection of metastasis in N0 necks of T1-T2 early-stage oral cavity cancers.
Materials And Methods: Twenty neck dissections were performed in 18 patients diagnosed with T1 and T2 oral cavity cancer, with an indication for elective neck dissection between November 2007 and January 2011. The male to female ratio was 12:8, with a mean age of 54.
Objectives: Despite the significant role of certain hematologic parameters in reperfusion injury, their relationship with microvascular reperfusion remains not well understood. Therefore, our objective was to evaluate the relationship between hematologic parameters at admission and microvascular reperfusion in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (primary PCI).
Methods: A total of 213patients (mean age: 57.
Aim: Lumbar epidural fibrosis is increasingly recognized as a cause of persistent back pain. The aim of this study was to examine the effect Ankaferd Blood Stopper on epidural fibrosis following laminectomy in rat models.
Material And Methods: Twenty Sprague-Dawley male rats were randomly allocated to 2 groups of 10 each.
A series of diimine Schiff bases and their polymers were synthesized via the oxidative polycondensation reaction. The structures of the compounds were confirmed by (1)H-NMR, (13)C-NMR, FT-IR and UV-vis spectral measurements. Electrochemical and optical band gap values of synthesized compounds were determined by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and UV-vis measurements, respectively.

In recent years, the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) has been used as a predictive parameter for systemic inflammatory response in many different clinical entities. This study aims to determine if the NLR predicts the tumor stage in colorectal cancer patients in the preoperative period.

Methods: A total of 32 male Balb/c mice were divided into four groups as follows. Group I (control) was injected with single saline via the intraperitoneal route.
Red cell distribution width (RDW) and the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) are predictors of cardiovascular risk that have been shown to correlate with impaired reperfusion and increased morbidity and mortality in patients with an ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). We hypothesized that RDW and the NLR would be associated with failed thrombolysis. One hundred and two STEMI patients were included in the study; 32 had failed thrombolysis while the other 70 fulfilled the criteria for successful thrombolysis.

Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate whole body physical fitness parameters such as maximal aerobic capacity (VO max), muscle strength, trunk flexibility, daily physical activity, pulmonary function, body composition, anxiety and depression, as well as other disease-related changes in patients with chronic neck pain (CNP), and to compare them with healthy controls.
Method: Eighty patients (40 male, 40 female) with CNP and 80 (40 male, 40 female) controls were included in this study. VO max, handgrip and back-leg strengths, trunk flexibility, daily physical activity, pulmonary function test (PFT), body composition and pressure pain threshold (PPT) measurements were carried out.
Objective: Studies have shown different effect of intermediate QRS prolongation on major cardiovascular events in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the predictive and prognostic value of intermediate QRS prolongation on in-hospital complication rate and long term mortality in patients with AMI.
Materials And Methods: We performed an observational study that enrolled 114 consecutive patients with AMI.
The benefits of making an effective use of impressive computational power offered by multi-core platforms are investigated for the computation of φ-polynomials used in the description of freeform surfaces. Specifically, we devise parallel algorithms based upon the recurrence relations of both Zernike polynomials and gradient orthogonal Q-polynomials and implement these parallel algorithms on Graphical Processing Units (GPUs) respectively. The results show that more than an order of magnitude improvement is achieved in computational time over a sequential implementation if these recurrence-based parallel algorithms are adopted in the computation of the φ-polynomials.
