A case of cervical radiculomyelopathy caused by multiple calcified nodules in the ligamenta flava is presented. Roentgenological examination of the cervical spine showed radiopaque nodular lesions, 7 x 7 x 5 mm in size, located in the paramedian portion of the posterior spinal canal. The nodules were removed surgically and they were confirmed to be calcifications of ligamenta flava.

In order to identity the source of excess secretion of prolactin in male patients, the pituitary tumors of 11 males with hyperprolactinaemia were studied by peroxidase-labelled antibody method using antibodies against human prolactin. Using light microscope, prolactin was demonstrated in most tumour cells in all cases. Ultrastructurally, prolactin was localized mainly on the secretory granules.

This time trend of hemodynamics and mitochondrial functions were studied to determine whether the ligation of the hepatic artery would result in an antitumor effect on 3'-methyl-4-dimethylaminoazobenzene-induced hepatic carcinoma in rats. The studies revealed that the hepatic tumors were nourished predominantly by the artery and less by the portal vein; the size of the vascular beds in the hepatic tumors decreased as compared with those in the non-tumor area; and as the tumors grew larger, the artery became less predominant and the size of vascular beds decreased further. The mitochondria in the tumor were characterized by impaired growth, impaired oxidative phosphorylation, and by the low activity and nucleotide specificity of membrane bound ATPase.
