It is defined by the clinical triad of haemoptysis, anaemia and progressive hypoxaemia. The diagnosis of granulomatosis with polyangitis is confirmed in an appropriate clinical setting by bronchoalveolar lavage, lung biopsy or detection of C-antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies.

Breast metastases are commonly confused with the more common primary carcinoma of breast. Diagnosis is based on the core needle biopsy of the lesion which is helpful in the appropriate treatment planning of the patient.
