Objectives: To understand the vascular anatomy of the anterolateral thigh (ALT) free flap. To anatomically determine whether including a 2-cm cuff of vastus lateralis muscle (VLM) incorporates musculocutaneous perforators in the harvest of the ALT free flap.
Study Design: Anatomic study on human cadavers.
Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of using a voice-controlled robot Automated Endoscopic System for Optimal Positioning (AESOP) for holding and maneuvering the endoscope in the trans-sphenoidal approach to the pituitary.
Design: To compare the manual approach to the voice-activated robotic scope holder in maneuvering the endoscope and resecting pituitary lesions using a two-handed technique.
Setting: Robotic laboratory at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport.
Purpose: To study the effectiveness of pencil pushups treatment (PPT) for the treatment of convergence insufficiency in a clinical situation.
Methods: PPT was prescribed for use at home for 6 weeks for 25 subjects with convergence insufficiency.
Results: Twelve of the subjects returned for follow-up.
