Aim: Dental pulp stem cells, which are primarily derived from the pulp tissues of human teeth, have rarely been obtained from natal teeth. This study investigated the stem cell and differentiation markers of the dental pulp of natal teeth using immunohistochemistry.

Materials & Methods: The pulp tissue from extracted natal teeth (n = 2) of a 20-day-old healthy male was examined for immunohistochemical expression of stem cell (Oct-4 and SOX 2) and differentiation markers (Nestin, CD 44, desmin, osteopontin and Ki- 67).

Recent advances in our understanding of the function of the skin and its microbiome have shown that there is a strong symbiotic relationship between the microbiota of the skin and its host immune functions. The dysbiosis or imbalance of the microbiome and other factors that have an influence on the surface microbiota can influence keratinocyte regulation and homeostasis as well as the skin barrier function. In this perspective paper, we review the evidence that connects the skin's microbiome and the barrier function of the epidermis and explore the future potential for applying this unique dialogue in developing innovative cosmetics and transdermal drugs for wellbeing and beauty.

Introduction: As we enter a new age of increasing demand in novel cosmetic therapies, we are challenged to provide excellent results with minimal downtime and safety in all skin types. In this open case series we are studying the improvement in rhytides by combining a novel, FDA-approved, non-ablative fractionated Q-switched ND: YAG 1,064-nm laser that acts in the deep dermis, with a topical containing plant stem cell extract and N-acetyl glucosamine (NAG) that acts in the superficial dermis.

Method: Six healthy females (Skin types III - V) were selected for the study with mean average age of 56 years +/- 11 years.
