Background And Aims: Novel biomarkers, such as neutrophil lymphocyte ratio, monocyte lymphocyte ratio, neutrophil to lymphocyte platelet ratio, derived neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio, systemic immune-inflammation index, systemic inflammation response index, and aggregate index of systemic inflammation, have shown promising prognostic value, especially in ICU settings. We aimed to evaluate the potential of the mentioned factors as ICU mortality predictors in a heterogeneous ICU cohort.

Methods And Materials: We conducted a retrospective cohort study using data obtained from the intensive care unit (ICU) records of 311 patients.

Background: The main reason for the failure of endodontic therapy is the incomplete knowledge about the anatomical variation of root canals. One of the most important factors that leads to the failure of root canal treatment, is missed and untreated major root canals.

Objective: with respect to the complexity of mandibular incisors treatment and high prevalence of the second canal, and the possibility of the relationship between the crown size and the extra canal in these teeth, the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between crown size and root canal morphology in mandibular incisors with CBCT.

Potential of Drug Interactions among Hospitalized Cancer Patients in a Developing Country.

Cancer patients are more susceptible to adverse drug-drug interactions (DDIs) due to receiving multiple medications especially chemotherapy medications, hormonal agents and supportive care drugs. The aim of this study is to describe the prevalence of potential DDIs and to identify risk factors for these potential interactions in hospitalized cancer patients in a developing country. A cross-sectional study conducted by reviewing charts of 224 consecutive in hospitalized patients in hematology-oncology ward of a teaching hospital in Tehran, during a 12 month period from July 2009 to July 2010.
