Insights into determinants of health-seeking behavior: a cross-sectional investigation in the Iraqi context.

Background: Health-seeking behavior (HSB) is a choice taken by an individual to maintain, achieve, or restore good health and prevent diseases. The purpose of this study is to examine the determinants of HSB among the Iraqi population.

Methods: This cross-sectional study in the Rusafa and Karkh districts of Baghdad investigated determinants of HSB from 2022 to 2023.

MicroRNA-145, Wnt3a, and Dab2 Genes Expression Changes of the Cardiomyocytes in Hypercholesterolemic Rats Exposed to the Aerobic Training.

The current study aimed to investigate the effect of a 12-week endurance training (ET) on microRNA-145 (miR-145) changes and and cardiomyocytes genes expression of hypercholesterolemic Wistar male rats. Thirty-two male Wistar rats (191.2±19 g, 6-8 weeks age) were randomly assigned into the aerobic exercise-normal nutrition (ANN; n=8), hypercholesterolemic (HCL; n=8), aerobic exercise- hypercholesterolemic (ACL; n=8), and normal nutrition (NN; n=8).

Effect of Multimodal Intervention on Nursing Students' Adherence to Hand Hygiene: An Experimental Study.

Background: Hand hygiene adherence is highly important in clinical practice and is influenced by various factors.

Aims: This study investigated the effect of multimodal intervention on nursing students' adherence to hand hygiene in clinical practice.

Methods: Internship nursing students were randomized into control ( = 20) and intervention ( = 26) groups.

Development and preliminary psychometric evaluation of a nursing error tool in critical care units.

Objective: This study was conducted to address the importance of identifying nursing errors in critical care units and the lack of appropriate tools for measuring them. This study aimed to develop and psychometrically evaluate a nursing error tool in critical care units.

Design: This was a psychometric validity study.

Determination of maternal risk factors of preterm delivery: adjusted for sparse data bias; results from a population-based case-control study in Iran.

Objective: To determine the maternal risk factors associated with preterm delivery in Iran.

Methods: A population-based case-control study was conducted including 48 women having preterm delivery (case group) and 100 women having term delivery (control group) between March 2007 and March 2012 in the maternity hospitals of the Selseleh County, Lorestan province, Iran. Information regarding maternal risk factors was collected by structured interview and reviewing the medical records.

Validity and reliability of the Persian versions of WOMAC Osteoarthritis Index and Lequesne Algofunctional Index.

The WOMAC Osteoarthritis Index and Lequesne Algofunctional Index have not been translated and validated for Iranian patients with osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee or hip. The aim of this study was to validate the Persian form of WOMAC OA Index and Lequesne Algofunctional Index and to assess their test-retest reliability and convergent validity. Forward/backward translations and consensus panels were conducted to obtain the Persian versions of WOMAC OA Index and Lequesne Algofunctional Index.

Development of a Rheumatoid Arthritis Education Program using the PRECEDE_PROCEED Model.

Background: In order to help rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients in carrying out and at-taining relevant self-care behaviors and adaptation to the physical limitations of this dis-ease and, conse-quently, promoting their level of health status, an education program based on the PRECEDE component of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model targeting patients with RA was developed. This paper describes the planning of a RA Patient Education Program (RAPEP) designed to promote their quality of life.
