In the present study, we prepared Gum Acacia-cl-Acrylic acid-co-itaconic acid (GA-cl-AA-co-IA) hydrogels by free radical crosslink polymerization method for the efficient removal of Rhodamine-B (RhB) dye. The hydrogels were further characterized by different characterization techniques: Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Brunuer-Emmett-Teller (BET) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) to confirm synthesis. Background: Transversus thoracis muscle plane block (TTPB) and parasternal intercostal nerve block (PICNB) inhibit the anterior branches of intercostal nerves and potentially provide adequate analgesia after cardiac surgery. This study aimed to compare these two blocks for a reduction in postoperative opioid consumption after cardiac surgery.

This narrative review explores the pathophysiology of obesity, cellular senescence, and exosome release. When exposed to excessive nutrients, adipocytes develop mitochondrial dysfunction and generate reactive oxygen species with DNA damage. This triggers adipocyte hypertrophy and hypoxia, inhibition of adiponectin secretion and adipogenesis, increased endoplasmic reticulum stress and maladaptive unfolded protein response, metaflammation, and polarization of macrophages.

Background: Anesthetic technique and postoperative pain management are crucial for total joint arthroplasty (TJA) patients. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and C-reactive protein (CRP) are new, simple, and cost-effective predictors for prognosis. The predictive value of NLR as an inflammatory marker can predict post-operative pain caused by inflammatory pathways secondary to surgical trauma.
