Introduction: Intravenous iron sucrose (IVIS) is a rapidly acting, safe, and effective treatment for moderate anemia among pregnant women. The effectiveness of IVIS at 6 months post IVIS infusion was unknown. We, therefore, assessed the mean increase in hemoglobin concentration and body iron replenishment status at 6 months after the last dose of IVIS infusion.

Nucleases are powerful enzymes that can enhance the uncatalyzed rate of phosphodiester bond cleavage by up to ∼10-fold. Despite the most well accepted hydrolysis mechanism involving two metals (M to activate a water nucleophile and M to stabilize the leaving group), experimental evidence suggests that some nucleases can use a single metal to facilitate the chemical step, a controversial concept in the literature.

Parents in Australia are electing to use BTF in their children despite local hospital guidelines, calling for further research to support its use.
Methods: A retrospective case-series study was conducted at a tertiary paediatric hospital, to characterise the paediatric population electively using BTF and evaluate their clinical outcomes.
Convalescent plasma therapy (CPT) is one of the treatment modalities used for COVID-19. Initial smaller studies showed the usefulness of CPT in COVID-19, but larger studies showed that it is not effective. This is a retrospective observational study conducted between 1st June 2020 and 31st July 2021 at a tertiary hospital in Noida, India.

Methods: The methodology deployed for data analysis was mixed deductive-inductive. A deductive framework was adapted for categorizing the data into four broad themes: Economic, Physical/Infrastructure, Social, and Health.
() , an opportunistic human fungal pathogen, causes mucosal and deep-seated infections in immunocompromised individuals. Recently designated as a high-priority fungal pathogen by the World Health Organization (WHO), exhibits low inherent susceptibility to azole antifungals. In addition, about 10% clinical isolates of display co-resistance to both azole and echinocandin drugs.

However, recurrence may affect a minority. It has been found through previous research that the concomitant utilisation of probiotics during acute VVC leads to early relief of symptoms and signs and offers a preventive measure against recurrences.

Changes in kidney size can occur in various kidney diseases due to different causes, hence knowledge of normal kidney dimensions in a population is crucial for diagnosis, follow-up and prognostication. While data from other parts of the world does not apply to the Indian population due to differences in ethnicity, diet and body sizes, and there is also a lack of standardized data on normal kidney sizes in healthy Indian adults.

Despite recommendations to screen for distress at regular intervals, it usually remains undiagnosed. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of diabetes distress among adults living with diabetes, determine the factors associated with distress, the association between selfcare and distress, glycemic control and distress and compare the health-related quality of life among those with and without distress.

We report the construction of unsymmetrical dimeric carbazoles and π-extended bis carbazoles (having an aryl ring spacer) via the C-H functionalization route. Generally, oxidative coupling and traditional cross-coupling reactions have been used to construct bis- and π-extended carbazoles. Natural bis carbazole alkaloids and synthetic dimeric carbazoles are important molecules in medicinal, materials chemistry research.

It has been reported that interns lack confidence in performing common procedures, as these skills are often learnt through self-learning or performing without supervision. This type of learning endangers patient safety and fails to instil the required confidence in the student.

Intramedullary implants have been established as superior to plate constructs. Our aim is to compare the complications and clinical outcomes of the Proximal Femur Nail (PFN) and Proximal Femur Nail Antirotation-2 (PFNA2) in managing unstable intertrochanteric fractures.

The present investigation was carried out to evaluate the beneficial role of plant growth promoting rhizobacterial strains namely Pseudomonas aeruginosa (M1), Burkholderia gladioli (M2) and earthworms (Eisenia fetida) in alleviating Cr toxicity in 10 days old Brassica juncea L. The findings delineated that addition of earthworms and PGPR restored growth, boosted Cr uptake and showed upregulation of metal transporter genes (SULTR 1-4).

Segmental absence of intestinal musculature (SAIM) was first identified as a cause of intestinal perforation and remains difficult to diagnose clinically. Diagnosing SAIM preoperatively can be difficult; however, detection during the surgical procedure may be feasible if gross observations reveal bowel alterations such as a thinned-out wall, signs of gangrenous changes, or adjacent bowel dilatation. A final diagnosis can be made with the help of histopathology, making it a gold standard.
