This descriptive study in the interior of São Paulo aimed to verify diabetes mellitus patients' knowledge about the disease, causes and complications, highlighting its importance in self care. Data were collected through interviews with 84 persons and analyzed through descriptive statistics. Average age was 53.

This is a retrospective longitudinal study conducted in a Specialized Unit in the interior of Brazil. It aimed at verifying differences in nursing records with regard to how to document the care provided to patients in three periods related to the implementation of the Nursing process.
