Objective: . Aim: To examine the level of medication adherence among individuals diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Greece and Cyprus and assess the demographic, clinical, and psychosocial variables affecting it.
Patients And Methods: Materials and Methods: An anonymous self-administered questionnaire was administered to adult patients attending hospitals and treatment centers in Greece and Cyprus.
Background Digital subtraction angiography and thrill palpation demonstrate limitations when used to assess the outcomes of angioplasty in autologous arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs). Purpose To investigate a new functional quantifiable index of successful angioplasty for failing AVFs using intraprocedural percutaneous US volume flow (VF) measurements. Materials and Methods This prospective, multicenter, single-arm, cohort clinical trial included consecutive patients with indications for fluoroscopically guided balloon angioplasty due to AVF dysfunction between June 2020 and May 2022.

Background: Infliximab monitoring correlates with improved outcomes in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). We aimed to evaluate the association between serum infliximab trough levels (TLs) and therapeutic outcomes in Greek patients with Crohn's disease (CD) or ulcerative colitis (UC).
Methods: This cross-sectional study included consecutive adult patients with IBD receiving intravenous infliximab maintenance therapy at a Greek tertiary center.
Background/aim: This study aims to explore the role of NF-kB p65/p50 expression in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), those with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and normal controls.
Patients And Methods: Twenty patients with IBS, 19 subjects with IBD and 18 normal controls, who underwent colonoscopy, provided us with biopsies from the terminal ileum, cecum and rectum. Patients with IBS were categorized according to bowel habits.
To highlight possible correlations of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with microscopic / macroscopic characteristics of colorectal cancer tissues, along with the expression of Ten-Eleven Translocation 2 (TET2) and glutathione-S-transferase pi (GST-pi) proteins.

We aimed to evaluate which of these associations have strong epidemiological credibility and assessed presence and extent of potential literature biases. We systematically searched PubMed until April 2024 for systematic reviews and meta-analyses of studies examining associations between putative risk factors and CeD.

Data Sources: MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library were screened until May 2023 for randomised controlled trials.
The Renal Expert in Vascular Access (REVAC) is one of the four modules of the Nephrology Partnership for Advancing Technology in Healthcare (N-PATH) project, the first European-wide advanced training course in diagnostics and interventional nephrology, funded by Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliance, a European Commission program. The N-PATH primary goal was to train 40 young European nephrologists in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to interventional nephrology. The REVAC module focused on the crucial aspects of vascular access (VA) care in nephrology practice, as a complementary training path to the actual residency program.

Herein, we present the case of a 23-year-old male who presented with a pulmonary embolism complicated by a left renal artery paradoxical embolism. Urgent vacuum-assisted thrombo-aspiration restored normal perfusion of the left kidney within 5 hours.

Introduction: The study of time-related alterations of ultrasound-determined parameters during maturation, and the assessment of time to hemodynamic maturation, enabling early prediction of clinical eligibility, of hemodialysis autologous arteriovenous fistulae (AVF).
Methods: This is an observational, prospective, study of only AVF-eligible patients referred for access creation, from 02/2019 to 02/2022 (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT0473687).
Despite advancements in medication, managing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) remains challenging, necessitatingalternative control methods. Gut-directed hypnotherapy, known for alleviating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), is debated as an IBD management method. Anextensive search across PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Clinicaltrials.

A compassionate SIRT therapy was performed with resin microspheres through the upper pole renal artery and the feeding segmental artery of liver segment VI. Hematuria was resolved after treatment, and 4 months later, a follow-up CT scan revealed tumor size reduction and complete tumor necrosis (Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors criteria).

Purpose: Implantable venous access ports are widely used in patients receiving chemotherapy, but there is still scarce evidence about any patient-reported outcome measures. This prospective randomized controlled trial examined the impact on patients' quality-of-life following the placement of an implantable port device for long-term chemotherapy treatment.
Method: A total of 120 chemotherapy naïve adult outpatients scheduled to receive chemotherapy (duration ≥12 weeks) for solid tissue tumors in a single academic oncology unit were randomly allocated (n = 60 in each arm) between radiologically guided insertion of an implantable venous access port (PORT arm) or standard repeated peripheral venous access (Control arm).
Background And Aims: Tofacitinib (TFB) appears to be effective in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC); however, available real-world studies are limited by cohort size. TFB could be an option in the treatment of acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC). We aimed to investigate efficacy and safety of TFB in moderate-to-severe colitis and ASUC.

Advances in techniques, like sharp recanalization, allowed for improved success rates in crossing these difficult lesions. There is also increasing evidence of new devices in treating central venous stenosis and, at the same time, improving the time needed between interventions.
