Purpose: The methods and costs to enroll small primary care practices in large, regional quality improvement initiatives are unknown. We describe the recruitment approach, cost, and resources required to recruit and enroll 500 practices in the Northwest and Midwest regional cooperatives participating in the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)-funded initiative, EvidenceNOW: Advancing Heart Health in Primary Care.
Methods: The project management team of each cooperative tracked data on recruitment methods used for identifying and connecting with practices.
Introduction: We present a clinically relevant method for producing and sterilizing dissolvable albumin stents to provide intraluminal support during vascular anastomosis, and a method for photothermally soldering vessels using a 1.9 µm diode laser with a 200-µm spot size, albumin solder, and water as the chromophore. Our aim in this study was to assess the mechanical integrity of soldered vessels, and to determine if gamma-irradiation affected the solubility of the stents.

We examined effects of adenosine and its mechanism of action on L-type Ca2+ channels in native VSMCs from rat basilar artery. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and immunofluorescence imaging confirmed transcription and expression of A2aR, and in situ hybridization confirmed presence of mRNA for L-type Cav1.
