Aims: Among musicians, string players have the highest prevalence for musculoskeletal overuse. Playing a violin or viola requires rapid, repetitive, and complicated movements of the hands and fingers. This cross-sectional study aimed to examine whether violin/viola, violin/cello, and violin/French horn players experience more intense musculoskeletal pain than other instrumentalists.

Design: Cochrane Controlled Trials Register, Medline, Embase, CINAHL, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were searched. The risk of systematic bias was assessed according to the Cochrane Collaboration's domain-based evaluation framework.
Background: No validated scales exist specifically for measuring quality of life (QoL) and functioning level in patients with thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS). This cross-sectional survey examined whether some items adopted from validated QoL scales could be suitable for patients with TOS.
Methods: To find an optimal thoracic outlet syndrome index (TOSI), a panel of 14 specialists experienced in treating TOS independently evaluated the relevance of 19 items adopted from scales used in other upper-extremity syndromes.
Objective of this study was to investigate the gender-related differential item function of 12-item WHODAS 2.0 amongst patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain. This was a cross-sectional survey study among 1,988 patients at a university Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine outpatient clinic.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study patients with stroke (n = 195) and their significant others completed the 12-item World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule (WHODAS 2.0) at discharge from rehabilitation.
Objective: WHODAS 2.0 is a unified scale to measuring disability across diseases, countries, and cultures. The objective was to explore the available evidence on the psychometric properties of 12-item self-administered WHODAS 2.

The aim of this study was to investigate the floor and ceiling effects of 12-item World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0 (WHODAS). This was a cross-sectional survey study at a university's physical and rehabilitation medicine outpatient clinic of 1988 patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain.

Importance: Although antibiotic prophylaxis following rhinoplasty is widespread, the evidence on antibiotic prophylaxis effectiveness and the superiority of particular administration regimens is controversial. To date, a meta-analysis on the topic has not been performed.
Objective: To systematically review the association between use of preventive antibiotics and postoperative complications in patients undergoing rhinoplasty and quantify the review through meta-analysis.

Objective: To compare the number of review papers published in rehabilitation journals during recent years with the number published a decade ago.
Methods: PubMed search for review papers published in 7 major rehabilitation journals in 20052007 and 2015-2017.
Results: Of the 940 review papers identified, 659 were published in 2015-2017, and 281 in 2005-2007.
Objective: To compare easy-to-use International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF)-based measures of functioning with the level and severity of spinal cord injury.
Methods: Cross-sectional study. Patients (n = 142) and their significant others completed the 12-item World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule (WHODAS 2.
We compared the functioning of two neurological patient groups, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and traumatic brain injury (TBI), using brief and validated International Classification of Functioning (ICF)-based tools. A 12-item World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule (WHODAS 2.0) questionnaire was mailed to ALS and TBI patients and their significant others 2 weeks before their appointment at an outpatient clinic of a university hospital.

Design:: Cross-sectional study.
Setting:: University hospital specialist outpatient clinic.
Objectives: To investigate functioning measured with the 12-item World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule (WHODAS 2.0) in patients with mild, moderate and severe traumatic brain injury, and to compare patients' experiences with assessments made by their significant others and by consultant neurologists.
Methods: A total of 112 consecutive patients with traumatic brain injury (29 mild, 43 moderate, 40 severe) and their significant others completed a 12-item WHODAS 2.

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of repair of the lateral nasal wall in adult patients with nasal airway obstruction.
Data Sources: Medline, Embase, Cinahl, Central, Scopus, and Web of Science databases and reference lists were searched for clinical and observational studies.
Background: To our knowledge, no validated scales exist as yet for measuring quality of life and functioning level in patients with serratus palsy. This cross-sectional survey study examined whether a broadly validated Western Ontario Rotator Cuff Index (WORC) could be partially adapted for patients with serratus palsy.
Methods: The relevancy of WORC, 21 items, along with 4 additional new items, was tested by 95 patients with serratus palsy and a panel of 9 medical experts.
Objective: To evaluate the factor structure of Functional Independence Measure (FIM®) scale amongst people with spinal cord injury (SCI).
Methods: This was a retrospective, register-based cohort study on 155 rehabilitants with SCI. FIM was assessed at the beginning and at the end of multidisciplinary inpatient rehabilitation.
Background: Previous studies have suggested that variation in results of lumbar discectomy depends on careful selection of patients. Numerous factors have been suggested to explain this variation with no direct examinations on this issue. The objective was to examine the use of pain medication before and after lumbar discectomy in patients with back pain.

It is important to remember the possibility of nonspecific thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) when treating patients with neck and upper extremity symptoms. There are no specific diagnostic criteria for the syndrome. Diagnosis is based on symptoms, clinical examination and the ruling out of other causes.
