Nivolumab-induced interstitial lung disease in a patient with gastric cancer.

We herein report a case of nivolumab-induced interstitial lung disease in a patient with gastric cancer. Nivolumab is a fully human IgG4 monoclonal antibody inhibitor of programmed death-1. A 69-year-old woman with metastatic gastric cancer being treated with nivolumab as fifth-line therapy developed interstitial pneumonia 27 months after starting treatment with nivolumab.

A case of ramucirumab-related gastrointestinal perforation in gastric cancer with small bowel metastasis.

Background: Ramucirumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2). Intestinal carriage and excretion of Campylobacter jejuni in chickens exposed at different ages.

Campylobacter jejuni is usually recovered from chickens in commercial broiler farms after 2 to 3 weeks of age. [A case of anorectal malignant melanoma appearing 1 year after endoscopic mucosal resection of a rectal adenocarcinoma].

We present a case of a 61-year-old woman who underwent endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) for early-stage colorectal cancer. However, because the condition of the horizontal margin of the resected tumor was unknown, she further underwent local transanal excision. Lower gastrointestinal endoscopy performed 1 year later showed protruding lesions both on the scar tissue and in the vicinity.

[Non-functional pancreatic endocrine carcinoma with multiple liver metastases--a case report].

A 60-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of upper abdominal discomfort and body weight loss. Abdominal CT showed multiple liver tumors with early enhancement and delayed washout. There were no abnormal findings in other organs.

[Surgical experience of idiopathic peripheral pulmonary arterial aneurysm; report of a case].

Peripheral pulmonary arterial aneurysm has rarely been reported, and although most cases show symptoms of hemoptysis. We experienced a case of idiopathic peripheral pulmonary arterial aneurysm in the asymptomatic period noted on medical examination. The patient was a 49-year-old man with coin lesion which was 15 mm in diameter in the right lower lung field on chest X-ray film at the 1st visit.

Objective: To determine the diuretic effects and changes in plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC) following oral administration of a single dose of furosemide or azosemide in healthy dogs.

Animals: 8 mixed-breed dogs.

Procedures: A single dose of furosemide (2 mg/kg), azosemide (1, 5, or 10 mg/kg), or placebo (bifidobacterium [1 mg/kg]) was administered orally (in random order at 7-day intervals) to each dog (5 treatments/dog).

Evaluation of NT-pro BNP and CT-ANP as markers of concentric hypertrophy in dogs with a model of compensated aortic stenosis.

Background: Serum C-terminal atrial natriuretic peptide (CT-ANP) and N-terminal pro B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-pro BNP) concentrations have not been measured serially in dogs with chronic pressure overload of the heart.

Hypothesis: We investigated whether serial evaluation of CT-ANP and NT-pro BNP concentrations is a useful guide to the risk of cardiac remodeling in dogs with a model of aortic stenosis.

[Portal vein stenting for portal hypertension caused by local recurrence following hepato-pancreatoduodenectomy for bile duct cancer].

The patient was a 73-year-old man diagnosed with bile duct cancer. He underwent hepato-pancreatoduodenectomy and a combined resection of portal vein in July 2002. The post operative course was uneventful.

Bilateral giant myelolipoma in the adrenal of a cotton-top tamarin (Saguinus oedipus).

A rare case of bilateral adrenal myelolipomas in a female cotton-top tamarin is reported. Large bilateral masses in the adrenal glands were composed of mature adipose cells containing varying amounts of hematopoietic cells of the myeloid, erythroid, and megakaryocytic series. The gross and histologic features of this case closely resemble human "giant" adrenal myelolipomas.

Adenocarcinoma in the rectum of a capped langur (Presbytis pileata).

A rectal adenocarcinoma in a 22-year-old capped langur histologically resembling those in human cases is reported. An ill-defined diffuse tumor with fibrously firm rectal wall showed diffuse infiltrative growth of signet-ring cancer cells. Immunohistochemistry demonstrated positive staining for CEA, lysozyme, EMA, keratin and B72.

[A case of intrapleural rupture of pulmonary arteriovenous malformation with shock].

We report a case of a 59-year-old male who suddenly developed massive right hemothorax and shock due to pulmonary arteriovenous malformation (AVM). He was admitted as an emergency case because of severe back pain, cyanosis and cold sweat. Although shock with massive right hemothorax was found, echocardiographic and X-ray computed tomographic examination showed no dilatation of the aorta, no intimal flap in the aorta and no pericardial effusion which suggested aneurysm.
