Experience with 5% ethanolamine oleate for sclerotherapy of oral vascular anomalies: A cohort of 15 consecutive patients.

Purpose: To describe the effectiveness and safety of a sclerotherapy protocol with 5% ethanolamine oleate (EO) at 0.1 mL/3 mm for oral vascular anomalies (OVAs). Our hypothesis is that EO applied at a concentration of 5% may decrease the number of sessions necessary for clinical healing.

Combination of the Searches for Pair-Produced Vectorlike Partners of the Third-Generation Quarks at sqrt[s]=13 TeV with the ATLAS Detector.

A combination of the searches for pair-produced vectorlike partners of the top and bottom quarks in various decay channels (T→Zt/Wb/Ht, B→Zb/Wt/Hb) is performed using 36.1  fb^{-1} of pp collision data at sqrt[s]=13  TeV with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The observed data are found to be in good agreement with the standard model background prediction in all individual searches.

Observation of Centrality-Dependent Acoplanarity for Muon Pairs Produced via Two-Photon Scattering in Pb+Pb Collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV with the ATLAS Detector.

This Letter presents a measurement of γγ→μ^{+}μ^{-} production in Pb+Pb collisions recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02  TeV with an integrated luminosity of 0.49  nb^{-1}.

A Cross-Cutting Approach to Surveillance and Laboratory Capacity as a Platform to Improve Health Security in Uganda.

Global health security depends on effective surveillance for infectious diseases. In Uganda, resources are inadequate to support collection and reporting of data necessary for an effective and responsive surveillance system. We used a cross-cutting approach to improve surveillance and laboratory capacity in Uganda by leveraging an existing pediatric inpatient malaria sentinel surveillance system to collect data on expanded causes of illness, facilitate development of real-time surveillance, and provide data on antimicrobial resistance.

Skeletal Class II high-angle open bite is often accompanied by osteoarthrosis of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ-OA). This type of malocclusion is challenging to correct, and it has been reported that patients with TMJ-OA treated with orthognathic surgery often experience skeletal relapse and a poor prognosis. This case report describes the treatment of a 25-year-old woman with retrognathia and TMJ-OA, whose masseter and temporal muscle activities were weak.

Objectives: To evaluate the usefulness of the mandibular cortical index (MCI) obtained by digital panoramic radiography (DPR) and by panoramic reconstruction (PR) of cone-beam CT (CBCT) with three different slice thicknesses for the screening of low bone mineral density (BMD) in post-menopausal women.

Methods: Two trained oral and maxillofacial radiologists assessed the MCI based on the morphology of the mandibular bone cortex (classified as C1, C2 or C3). The DPR and PR of CBCT with slice thicknesses of 5, 15 or 25 mm were compared to the BMD obtained by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) in post-menopausal women.

Such observables are significant not only for probing the collinear regime of QCD that is largely unexplored at a hadron collider, but also for improving the understanding of jet substructure properties that are used in many studies at the Large Hadron Collider.

The search targets the pair production of supersymmetric coloured particles (squarks or gluinos) and their decays into final states containing an or pair and the lightest neutralino ( ) via one of two next-to-lightest neutralino ( ) decay mechanisms: , where the boson decays leptonically leading to a peak in the dilepton invariant mass distribution around the boson mass; and with no intermediate resonance, yielding a kinematic endpoint in the dilepton invariant mass spectrum.

Search for Low-Mass Dijet Resonances Using Trigger-Level Jets with the ATLAS Detector in pp Collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV.

Searches for dijet resonances with sub-TeV masses using the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider can be statistically limited by the bandwidth available to inclusive single-jet triggers, whose data-collection rates at low transverse momentum are much lower than the rate from standard model multijet production. This Letter describes a new search for dijet resonances where this limitation is overcome by recording only the event information calculated by the jet trigger algorithms, thereby allowing much higher event rates with reduced storage needs. The search targets low-mass dijet resonances in the range 450-1800 GeV.

Introduction: A novel real-time lesion size index (LSI) that incorporates contact force (CF), time, and power has been developed for safe and effective catheter ablation. The optimal LSI was evaluated to eliminate gap formation during pulmonary vein isolation (PVI).

Methods And Results: Consecutive patients were enrolled, who underwent their first PVI using a fiber-optic CF-sensing catheter for atrial fibrillation between December 2016 and October 2017.

Herein, we report a unique material exhibiting single-molecule electric polarisation switching that can operate above room temperature.

Extended Measurement of the Cosmic-Ray Electron and Positron Spectrum from 11 GeV to 4.8 TeV with the Calorimetric Electron Telescope on the International Space Station.

Extended results on the cosmic-ray electron + positron spectrum from 11 GeV to 4.8 TeV are presented based on observations with the Calorimetric Electron Telescope (CALET) on the International Space Station utilizing the data up to November 2017. The analysis uses the full detector acceptance at high energies, approximately doubling the statistics compared to the previous result.
