A new microsporidian infecting the musculature of the endangered tidewater goby (Gobiidae).

A previously unrecognized microsporidian (Kabatana newberryi n. sp.) is described from the musculature of Eucyclogobius newberryi (Gobiidae) in Big Lagoon, Humboldt County, California.
