Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) symptom verbal response scales: content validity testing for use in adults with CRSwNP.

Background: PRO measures of symptoms in clinical trials have historically utilized visual and numerical scales but verbal descriptors may make it easier for patients to clearly differentiate between response options. This study assessed content validity and meaningful change in five verbal response scales (VRSs) used to assess chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyp (CRSwNP) symptom severity.

Methodology: This qualitative, semi-structured interview study recruited adults from the US, Germany, and China with confirmed moderate-to-severe CRSwNP.

Introduction: Canine osteoarthritis (OA) causes pain and mobility impairment. This can reduce dog quality of life (QoL), owner QoL and owners' satisfaction with, and adherence to, treatments. No existing canine OA-specific instrument assesses all three impacts.

Background: Dry eye disease (DED), Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), and Sjögren's syndrome dry eye disease (SS-DED) are eye dryness conditions that show significant overlap in various symptoms of ocular discomfort. The aim of this study was to qualitatively explore the patient experience and evaluate content validity of the newly developed Dry Eye Disease Questionnaire (DED-Q).

Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 61 US adults who reported experiencing ocular symptoms due to their physician-confirmed primary diagnosis of DED (n = 21), MGD (n = 20), or SS-DED (n = 20).
