This study investigated polymerization kinetics, linear shrinkage, and shrinkage stress development for six contemporary composite materials of different viscosities cured using radiant exitances of 1100-2850 mW/cm. Real-time measurements of degree of conversion, linear shrinkage, and shrinkage stress were performed over 5 min using Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry, a custom-made linometer, and a custom-made stress analyzer, respectively. For most tested variables, the factor "material" had a higher effect size than the factor "curing protocol".

Objective: This study evaluated the effects of curing modes on surface microhardness of visible light-cured resin-modified glass ionomer cements (VLC RMGIC) and a giomer after different storage periods in comparison to auto-cured resin-modified glass ionomer cements (AC RMGIC).

Materials And Methods: The following materials were used: VLC RMIC: Fuji II LC Improved, Photac Fil Quick Aplicap, AC RMGIC: Fuji Plus, Fuji VIII and Giomer: Beautifil II. The measurements of microhardness were performed using a Vickers test (100 g loads were applied for 10 s) in the following time intervals: immediately after the recommended cure and after 1, 7 and 14 days of immersion in distilled water.

Objective: To compare the awareness that students from four different faculties within the University of Zagreb have of oral health and tooth bleaching procedure.

Materials And Methods: The study included 158 subjects (both male and female) - 38 students from the School of Dental Medicine and 40 students from each of the following faculties: the School of Medicine, the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Bleaching agents have effect on chemical/physical and morphological structure of enamel and dentin that must be taken into account when this therapy is used. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effects of two bleaching agents containing a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide for professional use on human enamel and dentin surface and to evaluate the potential remineralizing effect of amorphous calcium phosphate gel (ACP). The aim of this study was to examine the effect of ozone gas on the remaining bacteria after chemomechanical instrumentation of tooth root canal. The study was carried out at the Department of Endodontics and Restorative dentistry, School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb. A total of 37 tooth root canals from 23 teeth (10 incisors, 2 canines, 8 premolars and 3 molars) with a diagnosis of chronic apical periodontitis (17 untreated teeth and 6 retreatments) from 20 adult patients (11 females and 9 male) were selected.

The purpose of this paper was to determine the prevalence and impact of various etiological factors on marginal ridge fractures of teeth with amalgam fillings. 50 subjects participated in this research, 172 teeth restored with amalgam were examined out of which 28 premolars and 144 molars of both jaws. Data used in the research was obtained by nonaggressive exploration of oral cavity and by checking dental charts and radiographic charts of patients.
