Digital solutions need to be fit for purpose and tailored to context to deliver real world benefits. To address this, co-production is often used, where stakeholder involvement informs intervention development.

Key Points: African American patients have unique insights on hemodialysis adherence and use of motivational interviewing to promote adherence. Key themes were mental health issues; historical mistrust; social determinants of health; and importance of provider cultural competence. Themes led to a novel conceptual model, which will inform the design of a motivational interviewing-based protocol to improve adherence.

Cholinergic Neuronal Activity Promotes Diffuse Midline Glioma Growth through Muscarinic Signaling.

Neuronal activity promotes the proliferation of healthy oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPC) and their malignant counterparts, gliomas. Many gliomas arise from and closely resemble oligodendroglial lineage precursors, including diffuse midline glioma (DMG), a cancer affecting midline structures such as the thalamus, brainstem and spinal cord. In DMG, glutamatergic and GABAergic neuronal activity promotes progression through both paracrine signaling and through bona-fide neuron-to-glioma synapses.

This study compares the perineal status of prospective women who had the midwifery intervention of perineal myofascial release during childbirth, to a matched retrospective control sample of women who received standard care during childbirth.

Methods: A non-randomized pilot study with prospective data collected for 50 women after informed verbal consent was obtained to having the midwifery intervention of perineal myofascial release during childbirth, and the matched retrospective data for the control group of 49 women were collected from a random sample generated from the medical records.

Background: No single multimorbidity measure is validated for use in NHS (National Health Service) England's General Practice Extraction Service Data for Pandemic Planning and Research (GDPPR), the nationwide primary care data set created for COVID-19 pandemic research. The Cambridge Multimorbidity Score (CMMS) is a validated tool for predicting mortality risk, with 37 conditions defined by Read Codes. The GDPPR uses the more internationally used Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine clinical terms (SNOMED CT).

Streamlined Genetic Education and Cascade Testing in Men from Hereditary Breast Ovarian Cancer Families: A Randomized Trial.

Introduction: When a pathogenic BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation is identified in a family, cascade genetic testing of family members is recommended since the results may inform screening or treatment decisions in men and women. However, rates of cascade testing are low, and men are considerably less likely than women to pursue cascade testing. To facilitate cascade testing in men, we designed a Web-based genetic education tool that addressed barriers to cascade testing, was individually tailored, delivered proactively, and could be used in lieu of pretest genetic counseling to streamline the cascade testing process.
