Objective: This study was designed to determine the effects of twice daily tooth brushing with the Sonicare Elite (Elite) and the Oral-B P40 manual toothbrush (MTB) on plaque accumulation and plaque-induced gingival inflammation.
Methods: One-hundred and eighty (180) subjects, with moderate gingival inflammation and a Silness and Löe Plaque Index (PI) of > or = 0.8 after refraining from oral hygiene for three to six hours, were randomly assigned to receive the Elite or MTB in this single-blinded, controlled clinical trial.
Purpose: To compare the clinical efficacy and safety of a new oral hygiene device, the Sonicare Elite toothbrush, with a soft-bristled manual toothbrush (Oral-B 35).
Materials And Methods: This study was designed as a single-blind crossover with two arms. A sample of 25 subjects who met the entrance criteria was divided into two sequences at random: manual-Sonicare Elite, or Sonicare Elite-manual.
Purpose: To compare the clinical efficacy and safety of a new oral hygiene device, the Sonicare Elite toothbrush, with the established efficacy and safety of the original Sonicare toothbrush (Sonicare Advance).
Materials And Methods: These two products were evaluated in a 2-week, crossover, single blind clinical trial with 45 subjects. At the baseline visit, a soft-tissue intraoral exam was performed and subjects were randomly assigned to the first treatment.
