Cognitive deficit is a debilitating complication of sickle cell disease (SCD), with a multifactorial etiopathogenesis. Here we show that neuroinflammation and dysregulation in lipidomics and transcriptomics profiles are major underlying mechanisms of social stress-induced cognitive deficit in SCD.
