Anesthetic management of a young adult with complex congenital heart disease and bronchopleural fistula for rigid bronchoscopy.

The number of adults with congenital heart disease and those who require anesthetic care are increasing. We describe the anesthetic management of a young adult with palliated complex congenital heart disease and a chronic postsurgical bronchopleural fistula for rigid bronchoscopy. Perioperative considerations in the care of patients with single ventricle physiology for noncardiac procedures are reviewed.
