Background: Activity-based therapy (ABT) has shown promise as a viable therapeutic intervention to promote neurorecovery in people with spinal cord injury/disease (SCI/D). Tools that track the details of ABT sessions may facilitate the collection of data needed to inform best practice guidelines for ABT.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the content validity of a prototype ABT tracking tool.
Introduction: Treatment intensification beyond androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) has shown survival benefit in patients with metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (mCSPC). There is a need to better understand how these novel treatments fit in real-world practice.
Methods: Using electronic medical records and administrative data, a population-based, retrospective cohort study of patients newly diagnosed with de novo mCSPC between 2010 and 2020 in Alberta, Canada, and initiated ADT was conducted.
Diarrhoeal disease caused by Cryptosporidium is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in young and malnourished children from low- and middle-income countries, with no vaccine or effective treatment. Here we describe the discovery of EDI048, a Cryptosporidium PI(4)K inhibitor, designed to be active at the infection site in the gastrointestinal tract and undergo rapid metabolism in the liver. By using mutational analysis and crystal structure, we show that EDI048 binds to highly conserved amino acid residues in the ATP-binding site.

Objective: The objective of this study was to 1) use our previously developed Hypospadias Journal for concept elicitation in a sample of adolescent and young adult hypospadias patients and 2) develop a new hypospadias PROM.
Study Design: We recruited English-speaking males ages 13-30 living in the United States with a self-reported history of hypospadias through targeted advertisements on Facebook and Instagram from March to June 2022.
Resistance to genotoxic therapies and tumor recurrence are hallmarks of glioblastoma (GBM), an aggressive brain tumor. In this study, we investigated functional drivers of post-treatment recurrent GBM through integrative genomic analyses, genome-wide genetic perturbation screens in patient-derived GBM models and independent lines of validation. Specific genetic dependencies were found consistent across recurrent tumor models, accompanied by increased mutational burden and differential transcript and protein expression compared to its primary GBM predecessor.

Materials And Methods: Sixty adults with subacute SCI participated. A sequential explanatory mixed methods design was adopted.
Study Design: Psychometric study.
Objectives: The Standing and Walking Assessment Tool (SWAT) is a standardized approach to the evaluation of standing and walking capacity following traumatic spinal cord injury (tSCI) in Canada. The SWAT classifies individuals with a tSCI into 12 stages of standing and walking capacity that are paired with well-established outcome measures, such as the Berg Balance Scale and 10-m Walk Test.
Introduction: Qualitative research has gained popularity in pediatric urology due to rich data and insights about quantitative results. To date, there has been no study evaluating the comprehensiveness of the reporting of these studies based on established guidelines.
Objective: The objective of this study is to perform a scoping review of the quality of reporting in recent qualitative studies in pediatric urology based on a predominant checklist, the 21-item Standards of Reporting Qualitative Research (SRQR) and identify areas for improvement.
Background: Most individuals living with spinal cord injuries/diseases (SCI/D) or stroke experience at least one fall each year; hence, the development of interventions and technologies that target balance control is needed. The purpose of this study was to identify and explore the priorities for balance-focused interventions and technologies from the perspectives of end-users to assist with the design of an intervention that combines functional electrical stimulation (FES) with visual feedback training for standing balance.
Methods: Two individuals with SCI/D, one individual with stroke, two physical therapists (PT) and one hospital administrator were recruited.
We highlight five recent, high-quality, representative, qualitative articles about Spina Bifida and DSD care that contextualize their findings within the scope of a larger envisioned clinical project. Qualitative research is uniquely poised to address issues such as how to define treatment success and optimize fertility-related education and surgical experiences in DSD care. This approach is also well-suited to explore caregiver burden and financial toxicity in spina bifida care and identify areas for improvement.
