Introduction: Historically, 15% of laryngeal cancer patients undergo non-curative management, but pragmatic data on this group are limited. This information is crucial to help patients make informed decisions about their care. Supported by the Northern Head & Neck Alliance, this retrospective study is the first to present survival outcomes for non-curative laryngeal cancer patients in Northern UK.

Method: This investigation used a qualitatively driven concurrent mixed methods research design. Data collection involved semi-structured interviews and mixed methods questionnaires with 14 SLPs.
Premise: The GlobalTree Portal, hosted by Botanic Gardens Conservation International, provides access to information on the approximately 58,000 tree species worldwide. Included in the GlobalTree Portal is the Conservation Action Tracker, a dynamic and collaborative database to identify and monitor conservation actions for tree species globally.
Methods: The Conservation Action Tracker collates conservation action information at the species level, including species recovery/action plans, ex situ collections, propagation protocols, in situ management, species protection policy, and education/awareness campaigns.
Background: Communication disabilities, such as primary progressive aphasia (PPA), impact family members as well as the individuals with the condition. To provide adequate communication care to people with PPA (PwPPA) and their family members, it is crucial to understand the communication needs from the family members' perspectives. To date, research on the communication needs of people with primary progressive aphasia and their family members from the perspectives of family members has been limited.

Methods: A retrospective review of patients undergoing PL for laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma between 2005 and 2019 was performed. Parameters were collected and analyzed within the multivariate models.
Retropharyngeal metastases are encountered in a variety of head and neck malignancies, imposing significant surgical challenges owing to their distinct location and proximity to neurovascular structures. Radiotherapy is the recommended treatment in most cases owing to its oncological efficacy. However, retropharyngeal irradiation affects the superior pharyngeal constrictor muscles and parotid glands, with the potential for long-term dysphagia and xerostomia.

The effectiveness of external carotid artery (ECA) ligation in reducing post-operative bleeding, and fibrin glue following ND in reducing wound drainage and length of hospital stay is reported.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective case review of consecutive patients undergoing TLM between 2006 and 2017 used the Kaplan-Meier Estimator and Log-Rank Test for univariate, time-to-event analyses, and Cox-Proportionate Hazard modelling for multivariate analysis.
Purpose: A multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach to cancer management is gold-standard. With an increasing disease incidence and growing research into human papillomavirus (HPV)-related oropharyngeal cancer (OPC), updated UK management guidelines were recently published. This study aimed to evaluate the MDT decision-making process among OPC patients at a tertiary centre.

Introduction: Understanding the experiences of people who live with primary progressive aphasia (PPA) can inform the development of appropriate speech-language pathology services for this population. This review aimed to summarize the qualitative research on the experience of living with PPA from the perspective of the individuals with the disorder and their families.
Methods: A scoping review was conducted.
Objective: We carried out a complete audit cycle, reviewing our management of paediatric patients with Bell's palsy within 72 h of symptom onset. Our protocol was published after the initial audit in 2009, and a re-audit was carried out in 2011. We aimed to improve our current practice in accordance with up-to-date evidence-based research on the use of steroids and antivirals.

The objective of this study was to assess the efficacy of enzastaurin in inducing apoptosis in multiple myeloma (MM) cell lines and to investigate possible mechanisms of apoptosis. Cell proliferation assays were done on a variety of MM cell lines with unique characteristics (dexamethasone sensitive, dexamethasone resistant, chemotherapy sensitive, and melphalan resistant).

Objective: Using MM cell lines, we investigated the molecular mechanism of related congener of adenosine, 8-amino-adenosine (8-NH2-Ado).
