The present study tested the hypothesis that the newly introduced anti-VEGF antibody brolucizumab does not only show promising results in pre-treated patients but is also a viable option in cases of tachyphylaxis to aflibercept or bevacizumab.
Methods: Thirty-six eyes of 34 patients with a history of at least 10 anti-VEGF injections as well as persistent retinal fluid following the past 5 monthly injections with aflibercept and bevacizumab prior to first treatment with brolucizumab were included in the study.
