Genetic Profile and Clinical Implications of Hepatoblastoma and Neuroblastoma Coexistence in a Child.

The aim of the following case report is to provide a description of the coexistence of two independent tumors in a child. A 9-month-old male was referred to Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology with hepatic tumor present on ultrasound imaging and symptoms of enlarged abdominal circumference. Physical examination revealed a palpable epigastric mass and the imaging techniques showed a tumor of the left hepatic lobe measuring 11 × 6.

Over recent years, there has been increasing interest noted in those active substances derived from plants that show potential for preventing cancer development. The most promising candidate is resveratrol which can be found in large amounts in the skin of grapes, tomatoes and in red wine. Its beneficial effects on the human body are seen both in prevention and therapy.

An Investigation into the Relation between the Technique of Movement and Overload in Step Aerobics.

The aim of this research was to determine the features of a step workout technique which may be related to motor system overloading in step aerobics. Subjects participating in the research were instructors ( = 15) and students ( = 15) without any prior experience in step aerobics. Kinematic and kinetic data was collected with the use of the BTS SMART system comprised of 6 calibrated video cameras and two Kistler force plates.

Introduction: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEPNEN) are rare and heterogeneous tumours with variable biology. The aim of this study was to evaluate the epidemiology of GEPNEN in the population of Krakow and Krakow district in 2007-2011.

Material And Methods: The Database of the Chair and Department of Endocrinology, Jagiellonian University Medical College, comprising the data on NEN cases collected from the Endocrinology Department, University Hospital in Krakow and from independent sources: surgery, pathology, and endocrinology departments located in the Krakow area, was searched for cases of GEPNEN patients living in Krakow and Krakow district, diagnosed between 2007 and 2011.

Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms: a 10-year experience of a single center.

Introduction: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NENs) constitute a rare and heterogeneous group of tumors with varied biology.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to establish the clinical characteristics of patients with GEP-NEN and identify factors influencing their 5-year survival.

Patients And Methods: The study included 122 patients living in Kraków or its administrative region, who were diagnosed with GEP-NEN between 2002 and 2011.

Breast cancer metastatic to the gastric wall.

We present a case of a 55-year-old woman, in whom the mammary primary remained clinically unnoticed, and the patient was diagnosed with gastric cancer and treated as such.
