There are new studies regarding the relationship between metabolic syndrome (MS) and changes in myocardial structure and function and subsequent development of heart failure. The aim of the study was to assess the myocardial structure and function, particularly diastolic function, and to evaluate the exercise capacity in patients with metabolic syndrome.

Introduction: Prognosis in patients (pts) after myocardial infarction (MI) with chronic heart failure (CHF) and asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction (ALVD) differs. We present a 42-year-old multipara with coagulation disorders in pregnancy who suffered from AMI in the peripartum period, documented by ECG, cardiac markers and echocardiography, with normal coronary arteries on angiogram.
