Endodontic treatment modifies circulatory inflammatory mediator levels: A systematic review with meta-analysis.

Background: There is limited and conflicting data on the reduction of circulatory inflammatory mediators in patients with apical periodontitis (AP) following endodontic treatment.

Objective: To answer the following research question: in adult healthy patients with AP [Population (P)], is there a difference before [Comparator (C)] and after various endodontic treatments (nonsurgical, surgical or retreatment) [Intervention (I)] on systemic levels of inflammatory biomarkers [Outcome (O)] in the follow-up period [Time (T)]?

Methods: An electronic literature search was conducted in the databases Scopus, PubMed, Clarivate Analytics' Web of Science, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews and Grey literature from inception to July 2024 with no language restrictions. Observational studies examining changes in serum levels of inflammatory mediators were included.

Currently Available Treatment Modalities for Uterine Fibroids.

Unlabelled: Uterine fibroids (leiomyomas and myomas) are the most common benign gynecological condition in patients presenting with abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic masses causing pressure or pain, infertility and obstetric complications. Almost a third of women with fibroids need treatment due to symptoms.

Objectives: In this review we present all currently available treatment modalities for uterine fibroids.

The Comparative Effects of Myo-Inositol and Metformin Therapy on the Clinical and Biochemical Parameters of Women of Normal Weight Suffering from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a multisystem reproductive-metabolic disorder and the most common endocrine cause of infertility. The objective of our study was to determine the influence of myo-inositol (MI) on insulin resistance (IR), menstrual cycle regularity, and hyperandrogenism in women suffering from PCOS with normal BMI and diagnosed IR.

Methods: We performed a prospective randomized controlled trial (RCT) that included 60 participants with PCOS who had IR and a normal BMI.

Background: Chest pain represents a prevalent complaint in emergency departments (EDs), where the precise differentiation between acute coronary syndrome and alternative conditions assumes paramount significance. This pilot study aimed to assess the HEART score's implementation in West Balkan EDs.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on a prospective cohort comprising patients presenting with chest pain admitted to EDs in Sarajevo, Zenica, and Belgrade between July and December 2022.

Psychometric Properties of the Serbian Version of the Death Attitudes Profile- Revised (DAP-R) Instrument.

The Death Attitude Profile-Revised (DAP-R), one of the most widely used scales for assessing death attitudes is a multidimensional questionnaire capable of measuring a wide range of attitudes towards death. The aim of our study was to assess the reliability and validity of the Serbian version of the DAP-R. The study was conducted in October 2022 and included a total of 547 students of the Faculty of Medicine University of Belgrade (FMUB).

Objective: Romania began its COVID-19 immunization programme with approved vaccinations in three stages, as follows: The first step of vaccination is for health and social professionals, the second stage is for high-risk persons and the third stage is for the remainder of the general public. This study aims at assessment of knowledge, attitude and practice towards COVID-19 and vaccination against COVID-19 in the Romanian population during the third wave of the pandemic.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was based on a Bosnian and Herzegovinian study on COVID-19 vaccination during the country's third wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

Objectives: To evaluate the sleep patterns among young West Balkan adults during the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Design And Setting: Cross-sectional study conducted using an anonymous online questionnaire based on established sleep questionnaires Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) (February-August 2021).

Participants: Young adults of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia.
